C James Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Last chance before the poll goes up: Clan James CJs Kids The Herd / The Goat Herd Goatsters Club James CJs The Lurkers I've put The Herd and The Goat Herd together so the vote won't be split. If there are no other additions, I'll put up the poll sometime in the next 24 hours. Sharon had "Goatwhisperers" And Aillie had "Minions".
Site Administrator Graeme Posted August 27, 2007 Site Administrator Posted August 27, 2007 I'll add Goatwhisperers, but I'm not adding Minions. This is purely because I'm an arbitrary bastard and I don't want more than eight names on the list....

C James Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 Just to be difficult, let me ask this: Shouldn't that be CJ's Kidds as oppsed to Kids?
Site Administrator wildone Posted August 28, 2007 Site Administrator Posted August 28, 2007 (edited) Well I will submit "The Goatmen" once again after explianing where I got it from. Since CJ won't comment on the possibilty of any such truth, it makes me wonder........ . As far as it being not gender neutral, all I can say is that since they have female FBI agents, they are not Gwomen, they are Gmen. Pretty weak, eh? Steve Edited August 28, 2007 by wildone
Site Administrator Graeme Posted August 28, 2007 Site Administrator Posted August 28, 2007 Just to be difficult, let me ask this: Shouldn't that be CJ's Kidds as oppsed to Kids? I was wondering if anyone would comment on that. I thought about it, and if CJs Kids got the most vote, we'll have another vote as to if it should be Kids, Kidds or Kid(d)s? (though the later one may cause a demarcation dispute with the fans of The Lo(n)g Way).
Ieshwar Posted August 28, 2007 Posted August 28, 2007 Uh, may I pip in? About kids. My English is rather poor (CJ knows this ) By 'Kid', you're referring to goat's children or just children? If you mean children as in human children, won't this sound tkis sound like we're CJ's bastard? Am I being paranoid? And for CJs (this is my fav), will we be saying- "I'm a CJs"? Ok, I would rather say "I'm a pround memeber of the CJs". Just what will be its singular form? Ieshwar

If you mean children as in human children, won't this sound tkis sound like we're CJ's bastard? Am I being paranoid? Kid: A human child Kidd: A baby goat. Both words are pronounced the same. <Persons> Kids (human children) is also used colloquially to indicate young people who look up to someone, or are mentored by someone. Eg. "Coach Brennan's kids" would be one way of talking about the kids who are coached/mentored by Coach Brennan's. It doesn't imply he's the biological father of those children. And for CJs (this is my fav), will we be saying- "I'm a CJs"? Ok, I would rather say "I'm a pround memeber of the CJs". Just what will be its singular form? I'd worry about that if it ends up getting the majority vote
Bob D. Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 On a seperate note, cuz I don't remember which chapter the statement was in: Subscribe to the forum, he said. Don't worry, someone else said, you'll get the notifications... Well, it doesn't work that way. When you subscribe to the forum, you get notifications of new topics, but not new posts in those topics... which means I have to OCD the forums to see if anything new has been posted... Bob Ps. This is post number 99...
JamesSavik Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Might I suggest the Capernicans [after Capricorn the goat]
Bob D. Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Might I suggest the Capernicans [after Capricorn the goat] Saddly, that's true... Johnny is a Capricorn... Bob
Site Administrator Graeme Posted August 29, 2007 Site Administrator Posted August 29, 2007 Might I suggest the Capernicans [after Capricorn the goat] It's too late to modify the poll, but since we were talking about a run-off poll of the top few entries, I think we should add this one. Shouldn't it be Capricans? Capernicans sounds like it's been named out a certain famous astronomer....

JamesSavik Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 Kid: A human childKidd: A baby goat. I will bow to Graeme's expertise on the matter of kids since he has a couple of them. Come to think of it, he owns a small farm and might own a kidd or two.

Come to think of it, he owns a small farm and might own a kidd or two. Hrmmm, Graeme, do you have goats? If so, I do hope you treat them properly? And James, thank you for your suggestion for a name... I love it, and with a slight change to Capricans, I really love it. It's a single word, pluralizes easily, and I like it. I'll try to pull a few strings and see if I can get it on the runoff poll.
Site Administrator Graeme Posted August 30, 2007 Site Administrator Posted August 30, 2007 Hrmmm, Graeme, do you have goats? If so, I do hope you treat them properly? We don't, but one of our neighbours has a goat. There are also a few that I pass when I go to and from work. As for treating them properly... I don't think they are. To the best of my knowledge, none of them have been given internet access

I'd have thought that an Echidna would be more sympathetic on this issue.
Jack Scribe Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 How about... OH EWE KIDDS Too esorteric (or neoteric)? Jack

Bob D. Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 A new strain of lycanthropy has been discovered being spread in western Arizona this morning. Apparently, the medium and source have yet to be identified, but there appears to be an uprise of Weregoats! Men and women are warned to stay clear of western Arizona and a forum called Gay Authors, where the only known connection between the various victims originates. Authorities are confident that only gay men who read the stories could possibly be infected with this lifestyle threatening disease, and warn readers that anyone experiencing anxiety over the ending of a chapter might be suffering from symptoms and should be screened by a doctor immediatly. The preliminary transmition, as speculated by our source in the FAA, appears to be half eaten papers partially consumed by a weregoat and then the documents are left lying around the edges of the road, where unfortunate passersby, who in an attempt to reconstruct the story, are exposed to the disease. If you have symptoms of being drawn to this forum obessively, not questioning the rational of the illogical talking goat, and can type at a whopping 65 words per minute with hooves... you might be: A Weregoat! Seek medical attention ASAP, or call you're local Humane Society if near a paper factory.
Bondwriter Posted August 30, 2007 Author Posted August 30, 2007 I'm not surprised weird things take place in Arizona. I've seen Medium.
Benji Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I'm not surprised weird things take place in Arizona. I've seen Medium. .........not to mention a certain goat lives there!!
Ieshwar Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Ever since I learnt that an evil goat with red beam gaze which it hides using black goggles and who happen to conspire against kind, friendly, agoraphobic, innocent, gay Mauritians livesat Arizona , I knew that it was weird! Ieshwar
Bondwriter Posted August 30, 2007 Author Posted August 30, 2007 .........not to mention a certain goat lives there!! Indeed. By the way, I've seen CSI Las Vegas, and Casino. So Nevada (and its area 51) doesn't seem to have to be envious of Arizona for its weirdness. How do they eat their pizza in Nevada? (CJ's sure trick to spot the loony... )
