Dear Nov;

 

Since Derek and Davey were friends in his first time around, it's obvious that they should get together. Besides, Derek has a greater intellect than either of the twins, even though they may be physically appealing, Derek has more to offer Davey than a nice body.

Derek might be smarter (though for me, jury is out on that), but David is more in tune with Davey.

 

But I voted none of the above... Even if Brian got killed or something, I view their marriage just like I view Davey's service vow - it transcends a Do Over. And if he got together with someone else, and then was in another Do Over, when he hooked up with Brian in that DO, he would feel unfaithful for "cheating" while Brian was dead.

 

BTW - as to another sequel - hey - it could happen, after all, how many Halloween/Friday 13/Elm Street movies are there by now?

Wasn't it Sean Rule.

 

He was the quiet, background, need to be protected, guy. And he ended up sacrificing himself for Davey, by coming back to save Davey from the destruction of USS Long Beach. That action showed his genuine, if unrequited, love for Davey.

 

And in the poll above Sean Rule has received nil votes. That'd hafta be the clincher, wouldn't it?

 

The Great Tease Himself, almost always chooses the person or the situation that no-one else has opted for.

As an answer to my trivia question...ONE person picked that individual from the poll above. (as of the time I'm entering this post, there's two that fit the bill - Brandon and Derek).

 

Davey's original planned love interest is one of those two.

Reading the first few chapters of DO (which I did just this week . . . I'm new here and enthralled), I definately had a feeling Brandon was being set up as a boyfriend--and then Brian kept popping up. So I'd guess Brandon to be the original love interest; go back and read the first chapters and I think others may agree.

 

As to this poll, Боже ! I hope Brian and Davey will be able to work things out, their committed love makes this tale stand apart from the genre and infinitely appealing.

 

But, if I were Davey circa DOR chapter 19, I would gravitate towards Sean. He is the only one with any hope of truly understanding what Davey has gone through and that gives them an instant bond. They share memories and culture that none of the others could ever fathom. There's even a loophole that Sean might remember some of Davey's first time around, not just the second. I may be rethinking my vote by the end of chapter 20, who knows? I hope so.
