KYE Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 With all due respect, Mark writes well written and responsible stories that are, quite happily hot...the caution is that these are not suppose to be public service announcements. I think the stories work on historically accurate settings that are also indicative of the 'historical mood'. In realistic terms, presenting every sex scene as totally 'responsible safe sex' would not be truthful to the times or peoples lives..... I agree, and Mark has done a good job bringing this issue into his stories without being "public service announcements". My favorite is from chapter 16 when Brad had a talk with Will and Drew after walking in them blowing each other.
Ivy Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 I never realized how addicted I've become to Mark's writing till I found myself checking in various ways about 3 times a day to see if either Millennium or Belvidera is updated, and when it is, I get this warm fuzzy feeling........... is it time for the warm fuzzy feeling yet?? soon?? really, I promise I can quit anytime....I can live without a dose of Brad or JP or Steph. or Granger.....sure I can....I can do this...Oh who am I kidding...no I can't.....you've got me hooked Mark! Hello my name is Ivy and I'm a Mark-A-Holic...LOL

So to speak.

Mark Arbour Posted November 15, 2010 Author Posted November 15, 2010 Ah, so Joe's taking a breather? He is. And a well-deserved one at that.
centexhairysub Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Who knew that being bad was going to feel this good!!! The new chapter was great and the ending was pure torture, the next chapter better get here quick, or I might just expire from the tension. I think the next couple of chapters are gonna be very interesting... I am worried that Robbie might be partially right about this though; could Brad win the war with the Carmichaels and Brian but lose his soul in the process? Is winning at any or all cost ever really worth it? I have knows people like that, the need to win was more important than anything else, loved ones, family, business, even themselves. I think it is great that Cody and Kevin seem to be nearing something meaningful and would hate for this to damage that. I do hope that both that Jeanine and Tiffany both end up pregnate and that works out well for everyone. I do think Brad is right about that, no matter who the father is with Tiffany's baby, Matt or Wade, the paternal instinct maybe stronger than they believe it to be now.... Keep the great writing up....
rjo Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Waiting for this chapter was worth every minute. I will say that who of us wouldn't want to be at that party. Will Brad lose his soul? No I don't think so. I think these guys are much stronger than that. Once Brad and Alexandra meet what will happen? Cody and Brian? We need the next chapter soon! Mark is only getting better and better. Of course we all knew that.
methodwriter85 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 When Matt got at him with that line, I really wanted Brad to reply, "But I was 23, finished with school, starting a career, and comitted to Robbie. You're 19, only a sophomore, and you don't know if you'll still be with Wade when you guys finish college." I don't know, the whole lackadasical attitude about it annoyed me, although I do realize that Matt was seeing himself as doing a big favor while at the same time getting his rocks off. Still, we're talking about kids here. It might be interesting if Jeanine and Tiffany really don't want that much help from whoever the biological father is, or for him to be that much into their lives, which would be much more dramatic and tension-making. I just really can't see Matt and Wade taking an active part as a "dad"- they're too young, and for Matt especially- not in the mindset to be there. Most 20-year old guys don't want to be tied down with a kid, and I don't think they're the exception. I can see them as fathers, but more when they're about 28 or so. Not now. I think they'll play more of like an "uncle" role to the kid. At least I hope so. Somewhere down the line, when they're ready, I'm sure they'll use Tiffany as a surrogate for their own kids that they plan to raise. As for Washington....man. I gotta admit I love Elizabeth Danfield. She's evil with some glimmer of humanity.

As they say, "The stage is set." Looking forward to it. Then again, the whole plan could still backfire. But "surprise" always provides an advantage.

It seems like the last few were important plateaus to allow for the tie-up of some items and the fun is taking off again wiht full force. It should be a great New Year, but just getting the scoop on what is going to happen for the rest of the party should be priceless.... As far as the 'glimmer of humanity', are you sure it is not either the simmer coals of her burned soul or just the fires of hell bleeding through her eyes!?! Durn, she is a cold one...
Ivy Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 You guys crack me up with all the 'baby daddy' talk!! We won't know who's pregnant one way or another for a couple of weeks in the Millineum-verse, and we won't know who the daddy is for at least nine months unless they do an amnio DNA test which I seriously doubt will happen. I'm kinda with Matt on this one, whatever happens they will work it out. At least one baby is planned, and if there are two or more, well this family has a history of the more the merrier. I don't think anything more than a minor freak-out will happen, whoever is pregnant. It's just one of those hurry up and wait situations. Now for me, I got to the end of the chapter, and thought 'Weeeee!! Party Drama!!" It's finally Brad's chance to go on the offensive. That's what has me on pins and needles waiting for the next ch.

She's evil with some glimmer of humanity. Good points with Matt and Wade (I totally called it on Tiffany XD) , but with Elizabeth Danfield I doubt it's a "glimmer of humanity", something she lost a long, long time ago. I think she despises Alexandria more than she needs her money and is using this as a chance to see her taken care of without having to get her hands dirty. That last paragraph was a great cliffhanger, what would be a good phrase? "Let the games begin?" "It's on like Donkey Kong?" Either way, I can't wait for the next chapter? Anyone else excited about what Stef will put in Brad and Robbie's playhouse?
rjo Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Humm a new allies Brad and Elizabeth to take the Carmichael's down. What I love about Mark is that his stories are written so well that you can see heard them saying the words. This last chapter is what I mean, every line every sentence is so right, so good. I wonder some time if these guys are real. Living in California. This is why we come back over and over again. Waiting for the next chapter. No one is better than Mark doing this.
Mark M Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Seriously another Chapter and it ends with a cliffhanger!!??? HORRIBL I TELL YA, HORRIBLE!!!!
Tiger Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Seriously another Chapter and it ends with a cliffhanger!!??? HORRIBL I TELL YA, HORRIBLE!!!! That's something that happens in Mark's stories these days. I'll be looking forward to the next one, but I think Mark said something about two chapters of HMS beforehand. I am really hoping that Cody f**ks with Brian's head. He definitely deserves it after everything he's done. I never have understood where the man went wrong. Was he born evil, or did he become that way through circumstance? 1
methodwriter85 Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 (edited) Brian had a really tough childhood. Some people can come out of it with their humanity still intact(see: Wade), but others can become self-serving users who border on sociopathic. Edited November 16, 2010 by methodwriter85

Mark Arbour Posted November 17, 2010 Author Posted November 17, 2010 Thanks for all your comments! What a great thing to come home to after a long, long, day. I just sent Chapter 44 off to Myr, and I'm sure he'll post it as soon as he can. I don't think we know yet whether there's any humanity in Elizabeth Danfield, or what may have driven it out of her.
KYE Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 (edited) Chapter 43 was a great read. Interesting how Brad and Robbie talk about Matt and Wade trying to knock up Tiffany, even joke about crying babies, and Robbie talking about being a "Grandpa". But, they never discuss or seem to think they could of gotten Jeanine pregnant and might be daddies again themselves. Could be a real shocker for them if she is. Edited November 17, 2010 by KYE
methodwriter85 Posted November 17, 2010 Posted November 17, 2010 I think in Brad and Robbie's minds, they're done with all that- now they're just trying to get JJ and Will through the teenage years, and then can set off for a trip around the world to celebrate being empty-nesters. It would be a shock to their system, I think.

It would be a shock to their system, I think. That very well may be their thinking, but the possibility is there. If you call it that. At their ages pregnancy is still very much possible and no precautions were taken to prevent it. In fact the only condom was used in anal and taken off before changing to vaginal insertion. They are big boys and know how it happens. Unconsciously they may even welcome that possibility. I think that they didn't really consider it. And just goes to show that a hard dick doesn't think. 3
mmike1969 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Love Den... Isn't that so 1970's? Should it be Man Cave by now?
methodwriter85 Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I didn't start hearing "Man Cave" until maybe...2002? 2003? Something like that. The usage is nearing but it's not there yet. And I give Brad and Robbie a pass for using "Love Den" since they grew up in the '70's. It would be like me saying something is "dope" or "tight". Outdated, but I'm just merely using slang from my childhood. Had it been Matt or Wade using that term, I would have gotten on Mark for that. I can't think of anyone guy my age or Adam Phillip's age that would use that term without bursting out laughing.

mmike1969 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Ch 44: ... You would think that Brian would not be so freaking stupid as to let Cody do him with his current BF in the same house... But I was hoping for more of a cat fight Thanks Mark... Can't wait until the next Chapter
