Wanderlust and Old Love

Recommended Posts

It was just time for it

and the feet had their way

so I did it without a thought,

and with a thousand new thoughts

wandered away.

I walked away just like that

and I returned again walking,

stopping just beside you

at sunset.

You didn't move

or even look my way

yet the air grew warm

and the sky held a more subtle hue.

Mood: An evening of profound restlessness

I am seeing myself as a young person, in love, but wanting MORE out of life at the moment.

But when I do decide to come back to what I left, my lover is gone.

But the memory of that love will keep me warm, forever.

It is what it is, Red Haircrow.

And what it is going to do is put me to sleep with a most wonderful feeling of peacefulness.

Thank you.

I suppose for me, my nomadic instinct is something which compells me at times, and I literally do this: wander away, usually to someplace I've never been, don't know the language or just to have open sky. Sometimes it's to places I love. I have to, or I feel myself dying.

Ones who don't understand that I must do so, not because I am tired of them, or don't love them, or am going to someone else....I just have to do it. It is part of who and what I am. Nothing has ever worked unless someone could accept that. It's a disappointment when someone can't.... and superlative and a great relief when someone does.
