Palo Alto High, who beat Gunn 49-14 in their cross town rivalry game, won a CA state championship last night in Los Angeles.

 

The town of Palo Alto will be jazzed, will the Gunn kids and alums?

 

I know if I lost to my cross town rival I'd be happy they won a state title so I could say "hey at least we lost to the best team in state".

I'm with you, I think they'd be happy. I kind of feel like if a team beats my team, we kind of have to cheer them on for the same reason you mentioned. Unless it's the Detroit Red Wings.
