Snow here. Fire in the fireplace!

Happy New Year!  Cold here, but people are out shooting off fireworks in the neighborhood.  

Same here, across the board.

Stayed home. Weather frigid cold, windy, and snow. It is a tradition in our area that pork and sauerkraut should be eaten for your first meal, to insure a prosperous new year! Every region seems to have their own traditions and lucky foods.   Happy New Year to all❣️

Happy New Year to all of our wonderful GA community!  I stayed on New Year's Eve as well, but the neighborhood fireworks going off kept me up until 1:30, since they didn't seem to want to stop with the fireworks, firecrackers, and other items that would give off a loud boom.  

As far as the first New Year's Day meal, where I grew up it was always ham and cabbage, but maybe that was to prevent large gatherings at the house with other relatives and neighbors dropping in, since ham and cabbage tends to make everyone gassy.  That left us to watch the parades and football games in peace.  

A quiet night here as well, will have our traditional country breakfast, eggs, homefries, bacon, sausage, toast, and pancakes!!!

It's cold and snowy here, just finished clearing the driveway, and son of a gun, a snow squall just came thru, well...I will earn my b'fast this morning!!!

I spent the hour before midnight on my couch spending a ridiculous amount of money on a new range, since my old oven died 2 days ago.  I had to bake my already proofing bread on my grill!  It's pork and sauerkraut here!  Fortunately I gave a good airfryer and my stovetop still works.  No snow, just very cold.

Sat on my couch, reading my new book, with the cats, same as last year.  Last time I celebrated was to ring in 2020 and we all know how that went.  

After two days of flight delays and cancellations, I finally managed to make it home yesterday evening. I spent NYE going to bed at 8:30pm and sleeping for ten hours straight. I'm such a party animal.

I was in bed by 10:30 and asleep not long after that, and I didn't get up until 11:00 am this morning. Yes, that's a lot of sleep! But it was necessary to my well being. I've had the cold from hell for the last nine weeks and when I can sleep, I take advantage of it.

I heard nothing, zip, nada from fireworks last night. I forgot people did those things. I live on a hillock in a condo community that strictly enforces rules. No fun here let me tell you. But it is quiet.

Between having the cold, it being pretty frigid with high winds nearly every day here on the coast, and not having a car my larder is getting thin do to a lack of grocery shopping (it looks like next Tuesday will be in the mid-thirties, I'll try then). So, the last of the eggs and spinach for a lunch omelet and the fallback of pasta and thawed frozen meatballs for dinner.

Did you read the book to your cats? 

Wished that I had stayed home but got pulled out and about. 

Hope everyone had a night they wished for; and will get the year ahead that they need and deserve.

Went to bed long before midnight but could hear the fireworks going till I fell asleep. My sister got scared her sister (me) had passed away and kept calling and texting me even real early. (Good grief, woman! I am 71 years old and don't need a mother! You are 2 years and 13 days younger than me.) I know it is sweet of her to care but it is still annoying and she gets mad at me for doing her the same way but I am her big sister! I have the right to worry when she is in worse health than I am.  But she loves to dictate to me and has since she first learned to talk. And our mom thought it was cute! I don't! So that is how my New Years Eve and also Day has went and started for me.

Unlike Snoopy, I wish for a New Happy Year, though it might be 10 years from now instead of 2026.

I worked a double shift at my ER.. got home 9.30 pm  Then I watched fireworks from my flat. No party this year ( thank God)   

Fell asleep and woke up just in time to send a teddy bear GIF to Penguin wishing her a Happy New Year before I went to work again 

I passed out early. I didn’t even make it to the final Stranger Things release.

I may have woken up once to the sound of fireworks, but rolled over and went back to sleep. lol

Have family visiting. Quiet night. They took their kids out to look at local Christmas lights and 9.00 pm fireworks. Watched Sydney midnight fireworks on TV and went to bed. Summer here. Nice warm weather. HAPPY NEW YEAR.
