There's no reason for anyone to "feel" anything about this. Gender identity is an entirely personal matter for the individual. There are plenty of threads on this if you want to discuss transgenderism but to conflate this with other stuff that we all know about is simply inappropriate.

I'm not positive about what exactly A.D. is referring to, but I think it more about the timing of the announcement, rather than the announcement itself (ie, "convenient" meaning the timing, rather than Manning being TG).

Yeah, the timing just seems to be too weird. He said for the past 3 years, which would be around the time/after he was arrested... He was just sentenced and is trying to get a pardon from the most pro-nonhetero rights president ever.

 

I know this is walking the political line, so eh.. maybe I shouldn't have made this thread. I just think moreso he's trying to use this situation to his advantage, whether it's legitimate or not.

According to this article, his transformation is not going to happen while he's incarcerated.

He can change his parts and whatever for all I care, but I'll be damned if its funded by taxpayers.

The photo in that article is from 2010. It also says that the statement is consistent with an e-mail sent a month before she got arrested.
