What do you do with humans who happen to learn about vampires and wolves?

Susan and Martin both heard the part about vampires, and Martin saw CE (and perhaps Prime) as wolf.

Colt is being stupid if he keeps ignoring oil smells. I hate horror movies because the characters always make stupid decisions which put them in peril. The same with books, when the character acts dumb it's just an indication that the author was not creative enough to figure out some other way to obtain the result he was looking for.

 

Meta is so damn smart and knows people are after him. Ignoring oil smells and not carrying his dagger are unforgivable errors. You have been warned. You use this same tactic again and you can kiss your virginity away.  It'll start with two hairy Vikings and then I'll let the rest of the gang have a go! 

 

Oh, and what is wrong with three ways, sorry Gary. This is a poly amorous relationship, the more guys on one bed the better!

Colt isn't stupid you know that ;-). And last time he DID decode the oil smell properly (Shaman). BUT: I promise you it is the last time he missed it. You will be pleased about chapter 16 and 17. Of course, something else goes wrong then (sadistic me).

 

And you know that a threat loses its impact when it's not followed through? 

 

And why is it a cliffhanger? And what's bad about them?

Besides the longer a threat can be held over someone's head... The better for all concerned!

Why has the sex scene been left out of this chapter?

Why has Colt been so very vanilla when at least 1 of the wolves would relish more kink? As would I!

Why on earth would Prime not be using his intelligence and have installed tracking apps on their phones?

There was no mention of anything connected with the funeral and subsequent events, which seems a bit odd to me... Did it actually happen or has even Prime allowed himself to forget his fathers passing?

No mention of Colts mother, either?

Colt is a nerd and slowly discovering the different flavors of sex. The first few lessons he learned quickly, he took possession of the wolves and marked his territory. He probably needs a little time to absorb it all before moving on to other things. But honestly, I don't see him ever going to far, after all he is in LOVE with his men.

 

I think the lack of mentioning all those subjects was on purpose, a way to give us a little break and to give us a little more insight into the characters. I'll bet those four letters will re-introduce some of those subjects. At least one of them has to be results of some of the DNA swabs the have take.

I definitely don't expect a raunchy sex scene every chapter, but a reference to sex of some while ago doesn't cut it... Maybe Brian could inject some levity and enlighten us as to how more kinky Colt is becoming with all the pack!

Despite the fact that Carlos has already done an amazing job to provide his perspective, here are some of my answers (although your questions aren't really plot or story arc questions ;-)):

(a ) There were clear references to sex in this scene. They might be lighthearted. But they were there and "kinky" (boxing gloves anyone?). But to confess I have never liked porn because I was too focused on the plot - which obviously was stupid ;-). A hunky man in boots on a serious mission is sexier than a naked one in bed.

(b ) Good one. I might add this. Obviously in chapter 16 and 17 everything will go to hell, so even the tracking apps won't help. But it is a great "learning" after this episode I will steal ;-).

(c ) Are there any open questions re Prime's father's cremation? I thought most things had been covered there. - Zef will make a reappearance though.  - When it comes to Prime's grief, I think he controls those emotions very well. Very male/macho like.

(d ) Colt's mother. Now that one will be revealed in the climax of this book ;-).

I am very grateful for your perspective. And I agree on Colt never becoming fully comfortable with fully kinky sex (though he will have his moments - there is one scene in book 4 which might surprise everyone; very devilish; poor CE). As a typical INTJ he trips on other things than pure physical sweaty kinky interaction.

 

But Seb is straight. So you can't have him. Now, a blond engineer from Florida with a very curvy figure ... that's a different story (oops, haven't written about that yet. Sorry).

Prime's conversation with his mother left me unsure of what she was thinking.

 

Who the fuck is Stiller?

 

Why is the Dean protecting his son now but ready to let him die later?

 

Is there maybe a trust fund or some inheritance involved and the greedy bastard wants it?

 

How strong is the Meta Pack going to be?

 

Where's the shaman?

 

Who's upping the bounty against the deal between the Dean and the blood suckers?

 

Didn't you say we would find out who Colt's mother was in this chapter?

Wouldn't any fears the Meta has about where to live and how to support his pack have been fixed with whatever money Mr. Loope left for him and Prime? He's a financial genius, I'm sure he can invest it and by the time the pack is complete and they move near the forest and the mountains their portfolio will be large enough.

Is the Dean Colt's father (answer in chapter 10!). And: he has a deal with Colt for the next 2 years so nobody learns about the Dean's dirty secrets. After that he'll wash his hands in innocence. What he really wants will only be revealed in the final book 7.

There is always money involved. Who is willing to pay and why will be revealed in book 5.

Very! Individually and collectively. Has to do with the climax in book 4 (MetaBattles) and book 6, where the prophecy will be revealed.

Good question. I don't know. You'll meet her in book 3 again briefly.
