After the last silly prompt response, I thought I would try something a bit more honest and me... J If this is supposed to be serious, you all now know my aspirations for the long winter months… The music was difficult to time with the words, so I cheated a little. At least I didn’t rhyme burning with yearning

Here is the result of my attempt. I tried to sing along with the red and green ladies.

Date

walking in an empty street

late at night intent to meet

what if he did forget

what if he did regret

was I too expecting

was I too selecting

will he not be daunted

am I what he wanted

steps sound in the open space

I turn, we smile, all falls in place

Wow, how I was relieved when I read the last line. I can relate, haha. Love it.

I think it's very good. I followed along with the music and really admired your decision to go with the expecting/selecting rhyme where the composer dips into the minor key. Somehow that 'ing' setting for the words works magic with the music.

I love that; you make me think I might have done all right in selecting the challenge for this prompt ;)

I can see your poem beautifully performed on stage, even in different colored dresses.

Dick is sleepless till the dawn.

Fourteen devils egg him on:

Two are dressed in leather,

Two in drag named Heather,

One's his neighbor's minder,

Five he found on Grindr,

Two are daddy-seekers,

Two of them are tweakers.

He thinks, Heav'nly Father,

Dear God, why did I bother?
