WatchPatRun Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 What is everybodys favorite song/band/ect. or favorite one to see perform live? Mine is definitely Kelly clarkson lol http://youtube.com/watch?v=F8mjmQ05wbU&sea...s%20independent She's amazing right there ^
LittleBuddhaTW Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 I think everyone knows my favorite is Elton John ... As for a favorite song of his, I don't know ... there's so many good ones ... "Burning Buildings" from the "Breaking Hearts" album (1984) immediately comes to mind, though.
Drewbie Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 (edited) Dunno like about everything. One of my Fav is Fleetwood Mac,Rumors best album. Rilo Kiley, More Adventurous My fav Japanese band is Gazette Edited April 30, 2006 by Drew
nightwish Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 My favourite band is definitely Nightwish (->my user-name). But I don't know how many of you know them, they come from Finland... my favourite song is Beauty of the Beast. But again, since it's a song of Nightwish, there won't be many out there who knows it...
Xandra Kitee Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 I guess I was spoiled for nowadays singers at an early age : Acid Queen - Tina Turner (The shoulder straps of the dancers are a riot!) Actually that wouldn't be my first choice but since very few could understand why the live performance of Les bonbons by Jacques Brel is so good... seems a bit pointless.
ex52tech Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 (edited) That is a tough one, but its got to be Bad Company. Paul Rodgers has got a great voice for their music. Mick Ralphs plays some really soulful blusey guitar. I keep comming back to them. Edited April 30, 2006 by ex52tech
Guest fayevalentine Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I like all kinds of music except for country. In the early 90's I was into "grunge" like, nirvana and the gits, and in the late 90's i was into a whole lot of angry girl bands like L7 and babes in toyland. Then I got into a lot of older music, like the beatles and The doors, and Pati Smith. But right now, and for the last year and a half I've been totally immersed in japanese rock. My fave band is L'Arc~en~Ciel their style varies from rock to pop/rock I love the singer Hyde's voice. My favorite solo artist is MIYAVI, he's so original and crazy and awesome, and he just makes me happy ^.^ ....and we can all use something that makes us happy Miyavi - Pop is dead Miyavi - are you ready to ROCK?
goddessmaat Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Mine is Keith Urban - love him, love his music. I got to see him live last year which seeing as I'm in the UK is quite an achievement seeing such a big US star. Fave song is - Dont' Shut me Out - I just love the lyrics Don't shut me out maybe baby We should talk about it 'Cause you've got your doubts but maybe, baby They might be unfounded Have a little faith you'll make it through I'd never hesitate to talk to you If you tell me just what's weighing on your mind Maybe it could help you sleep tonight So don't shut me out Don't be so proud don't ya know that Before a fall it leaves ya And it'll take you down baby that ain't Where I wanna see ya The sun'll rise tomorrow come what may And you'll feel better than you do today And in time you'll cry no more I know 'cause my heart's been there before And here I am when you need someone My shoulder's yours to cry upon And everybody now and then Needs and understanding friend around So don't shut me out Don't shut me out maybe baby We should talk about it 'Cause you've got your doubts but maybe, baby They might be unfounded Listen to your heart and clear your mind And you will find the answer every time Every road you travel on will lead To where it is your heart's supposed to be And here I am when you need someone My shoulder is yours to cry upon And everybody now and then Needs an understandin' friend around So don't shut me out, don't shut me out, don't shut me out
NickolasJames8 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I've been listening to a lot of old school R&B lately, and Brian Mc Knight is one of my faves, especially his song, You're the only one for me....... You say you've seen too many friends, that turn out to be too good to be true. Against your better judgment, opened up your heart, 'til you found the joke was on you. Looking out on the rest of our lives, If we're gonna be together or apart About the only way I know how to come, is right straight from my heart. I want you now, I'll show you how I can be the man you need me to be I've been around, but now I've found that you're the only one for me. Say you'll never fall again You won't subject yourself to such pain If you give me half a chance I will Never leave you standing out in the rain But if you think that I could look you in your face and lie right through my teeth then turn around and walk away Cross my heart, girl I care for you and when I look into your eyes i must say... I want you now I'll show you how I can be the man you need me to be I've been around but now I've found that you're the only one for me I need you so I can't let go Gonna be all that I can be I want you still I always will cause you're the only one for me .......of course, Year of the Cat by Al Stewart is my all time fave It must be the gayboi in me On a morning from a Bogart movie In a country where they turn back time You go strolling through the crowd like Peter Lorre Contemplating a crime She comes out of the sun in a silk dress running Like a watercolour in the rain Don't bother asking for explanations She'll just tell you that she came In the year of the cat She doesn't give you time for questions As she locks up your arm in hers And you follow 'till your sense of which direction Completely disappears By the blue tiled walls near the market stalls There's a hidden door she leads you to These days, she says, I feel my life Just like a river running through The year of the cat Well, she looks at you so cooly And her eyes shine like the moon in the sea She comes in incense and patchouli So you take her, to find what's waiting inside The year of the cat Well, morning comes and you're still with her And the bus and the tourists are gone And you've thrown away the choice and lost your ticket So you have to stay on But the drum-beat strains of the night remain In the rhythm of the new-born day You know sometime you're bound to leave her But for now you're going to stay In the year of the cat
Kurt Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Well, I have been thinking about this... I guess that my two fvorite songs would be Bad Day by Daniel Powter, and Unwritten by Natasha Beddingfield. So, I guess that those two people would be my favorite performers. Kurt

SonoLuminus Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 If you couldn't guess from my avatar, my favorite band is Erasure, and I also love Andy Bell's solo album. It's hard to pick a favorite song, but maybe Fingers & Thumbs, or Piano Song. Videos are not Erasure's strong suit, but Fingers & Thumbs is one of the better ones, and can be seen here: http://www.vh1.com/artists/az/erasure/videos.jhtml Also, Andy's "Crazy" video: http://www.andybell.com
vlista20 Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Well even though I listen to country mostly my favorite band is Counting Crows. I love all their songs but one. And that's 'Raining in Baltimore.' But of all the other songs on all the other albums I like them all. I really don't know what my favorite song is. Of theirs I'd probly have to say "Middle America" I think that's what it's called anyways. I never paid much attention to the song titles. I only stuck it in my CD player and played it over and over. Vance
WatchPatRun Posted May 1, 2006 Author Posted May 1, 2006 Ah I agree with Kurt on Natasha Beddingfield, she's a good singer, especially live. Guest fayevalentine Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 One of my Fav is Fleetwood Mac,Rumors best album. My fav Japanese band is Gazette I love Fleetwood Mac, Stevie's voice <3 Gazette is really good, their backstage antics with miyavi are cute. I am not too fond of Ruki's vocals though. I love his singing in cassis, but not his louder screaming style. I much preffer Kyo's (dir en grey) screaming. I could listen to him scream all day long. Dir en Grey - kodou Kyo's screaming is a drug.
rekop1 Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 I love Brian Mc Knights voice...it's sooo sexy (sighs) I like his voice too, although my favorite song of his would be Show Me The Way Back To Your Heart. It was not release as a single but it is a great song from his "Anytime" album. Anthony
