Thorn Wilde Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 (edited) Morning everyone. Having a terrible day. In the church where everyone’s rehearsing, but I can’t sing. Got something in my throat, and every time I sing or speak I cough so hard I feel like I’m gonna throw up. I have a solo that someone else is gonna have to take if I can’t sing, and i have people coming tonight. And this is giving me super anxiety as well. This has never happened to me before. I can always sing. Edited December 8, 2018 by Thorn Wilde 3 1
Thorn Wilde Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Got some help from one of my choir mates who’s a vocal coach, and my mum brought me half a pharmacy’s worth of various bought and throat medicines, so now I can sing without feeling like I’ll vomit at least. Think I’ll be able to do the quartet. 3 1

Mikiesboy Posted December 8, 2018 Author Posted December 8, 2018 But before i toddle off, i'll leave you with this: approbation noun | ap-ruh-BAY-shun Definition 1 : commendation, praise 2 : an act of approving formally or officially Approbation is similar in meaning to approval, and it is also very close to approval etymologically. Both words trace back to the Latin verb approbare, which means "to prove" or "to approve." Approbation meant "proof" when it first appeared in English in the 14th century, and by the early 1500s it had come to mean "formal or official approval," a sense it still retains in certain ecclesiastical contexts. Today, however, we mostly use approbation in the looser sense of "approval, admiration, or praise." The related verb approbate means "to approve or sanction," and the adjective approbatory means "expressing approval or commendation." 4
Thorn Wilde Posted December 8, 2018 Posted December 8, 2018 Update: Voice is loosening up. I will be able to sing God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, which is early on and where my solo is, and the rest doesn’t matter. 2 1
