As well, it was thought that wolf puppies who lost their parents were 'adopted' by humans. Puppies are so cute and lovable, and are easily imprinted. They are incredibly loyal, and adapt well to new environments.

The only photos I have taken so far this week have been of the bonfire. And they are only camera phone ones. I'll have a look at them and see what I think. May decide I'll need to take some with TN...

What about a long range photo of your house and surrounding neighborhood/setting? Just a thought.

Do you mean a wide-angle photo?

That's certainly a possibility. But during this particular challenge, every photo I have used so far has been taken from either inside the garden, inside the old stone cottage, or inside the house itself. Not sure if what you're suggesting would stay within that theme. But I might give it a try for maybe the final shot of the 52...

Thought I would send something funny to watch. One of them was so funny that I could not stop laughing!

So I decided to edit one of my camera phone photos from two days ago to use as my Week 41 offering in my attempt to take and upload one new monochrome photograph every week for 52 weeks.

It is of the bonfire that I had in my back garden.

Although initially I was burning garden waste (tree and brushwood cuttings, and similar) that I had accumulated over the summer and autumn, I also used it as an opportunity to finally dispose of some floorboards and skirting boards from the new, old house, that had been removed because they were infested with dry rot. This photo shows some of those being burned.

Great choice, Marty! It's rather stunning, and I can almost feel the warmth the stone wall would give off. Love the presentation with the rough border too... adds to the feel. I might be crazy, but I see a fox's face(or maybe a hedgehog's) peeking out of the vines on the left.

I can see what you mean about the impression of an animal face. Purely an illusion, though.

And I'm glad you liked the rough border. I experimented with several before I settled on that particular one ("Torn Paper"). I thought the jagged edges sort of mirrored the jagged edges of the flames.

The agile lizard evaded the flames after a faulty reptile heat mat in the living room of a property in Whitworth Avenue, Corby, started the fire late on Wednesday.

This is really cool too, but I like the black and white better.  It gives an air of mystery, and history, and a bit of fantasy too.  I can easily see a band of elves or hobbits (the non-Texas kind  ) cooking second breakfast around it
