Fences were torn down, the sun hardly made an appearance the whole weekend, and the stage caught fire one time. But the music freaking rocked! With the passage of time, coupled with the fact that I was under the influence of 'Mary-Joanna' for most of the weekend, I'll have to admit that my memory of it is, to say the least, just a wee bit hazy in places. But it still remains the best rock festival I ever attended. Ask me which was the best act, and I'd be hard pressed to choose one. But the act I remember most distinctly was Leonard Cohen shuffling on stage in his pyjamas, in the early hours of the Monday morning, and giving a dazzling performance of song and poetry. I possibly became one of his biggest fans as a result of that performance. July 27, 1974 James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, and America (Horse with no Name) at Varsity stadium in Toronto. It was the best place to see a concert, and my girlfriend and I were on the grass only maybe thirty feet from the stage. She managed to make her way through to the wall of roadies and they let her take pictures. By far and away the best musical night of my life. I can still hear some guy behind me calling out "Where's Carly?" over and over to James Taylor, He was married to Carly Simon at the time. Linda was unbelievable... they all were, and the smoke was so thick you didn't even have to spark a joint to get high. Hey, bro. 1 6

Popular Post Headstall Posted January 30, 2021 Popular Post Posted January 30, 2021 My son and girlfriend and my daughter moved stuff in last night. They also brought my treadmill upstairs and left it on my veranda(they don't want to go inside the house in case one of them has covid). It's heavy as hell and I have to figure out a way to get it inside. It has wheels, but is too wide to do through the door. I think I'll be able to twist and turn it through. Anyway, they all loved the apartment and they work I've done... I have to wait three days before I can go down and built the plastic tent, 7
