I saw the opthalmologist this morning. MRI results show no masses or signs of brain disease rather the lower eye muscles are in enlarged. As a result I cannot raise my eyes to a normal position. Likely cause, thyroid disease. I will begin a 28 day course of prednisone to hopefully reduce the inflammation. If that works I may be a candidate for a new medication to prevent a recurrence. The more worrisome thing is I seem to have developed glaucoma. After a brief improvement the pressure in my eyes was again as high as before I started treatment. I will be using two additional eye drops 3× a day in an effort to get things under control. Follow up in two weeks, a new sort of birthday celebration, hopefully one with good news.

Hi Dugh!   It is great to hear that here were no masses or signs of brain disease.  Also, that your conditions are treatable.  I hope everything works out, and am sending prayers and good wishes your way.  I hope you and your mum have a great holiday!

Dr. Terry recommends keeping warm in bed with your favorite flavor of candy cane.  Dosage for your candy cane for a man your age and fitness is four to 6 times a day as needed.  Stop temporarily if you  have side effects like sore throat or difficulty walking.  Make sure that Steve is there to see you get the right dose. 🤪
