I had dinner with my lil brother and SIL. Roast chicken and oven fries and a strawberry pies with mousseline cream for dessert

Well I’m back to having internet connectivity on my phone.  Was at the renaissance fair today with the squad.  Spent the entire time with a pleasant buzz. Was a fun day, I saw pretty much every show, even the ones that sucked.

No pics but I have enjoyed some cheddar cheese and new season apples for lunch. Jazz variety, very crisp, sweet apples cut into chunky slices. Apples seem to taste better when they are sliced.

I have some Persimmons (the hard ones) and Brie in the fridge for the next time I need a snack. A wedge of Brie on a slice of Persimmon is so good

Thais recommend Tom Yum Gai.  It is a sweet and sour chicken soup that has all the spices Thais use as cold remedies.

TP is the paper product of choice in Thailand.  Spicy foods make for runny eyes and noses, so there is always TP in a dispenser at the dinner table.  We use it more at the dinner table than the toilet.  Of course that's because we clean up first with a butt blaster, then dab dry the tush.  A butt blaster is a hose with a sprayer on the end, similar to what you use at a kitchen sink.  Different structure, but the same effect as a bidet.

I love pumpkin and squash soups.  They both are better with ginger and pepper.  Sometimes I also add a dash of turmeric.

Hey, Terry!  Personally, I love root veggies more than squash. Potatoes, carrots, onions, and beets are often in rotation in my garden. Especially leeks. A potato, bacon and leek pizza fresh out of the oven is the first sign that Spring has arrived in Michigan!  😋

Potato, bacon, sauteéd leeks, and Gruyere cheese. Tastes like Tartiflette on a pizza crust.  And I would never put pineapple on pizza.  *shudders*
