I think Benedict Cumberbatch did a brilliant job of portraying Alan Turing. Many of us didn't know much about his story as it was top-secret work carried out under the Official Secrets Act. I believe his pardon came about due to a feeling of guilt on the part of the UK government. Some people think that his statue should have been placed in a different location, but I think it is fitting where it is. Sackville Gardens is in the heart of Manchester's Gay Village which places him in the heart of the community to which he was a part. The idea of people talking to him about their troubles may seem far-fetched but it actually true, I think others may appreciate knowing that fact.

I didn't know the statue even existed. That makes me happy. :)

Love it!

This is less than ten minutes walk from where I live, it's a pleasant walk when the weather is good. 😀
