I have all the pre-op done, but they booked me a room for overnight stay, just in case, because of my lungs (and asthma.) As it stands now, they are putting me completely under so they can have better control of my breathing... but whoever is the anesthesiologist at the time could decide to use sedation instead, and resort to general anesthetic if there's a problem. So I had to meet with pharmacy as well. And I had to do more blood work and ECG. Also, I had to go get fitted for a sling at a different place. So... I have all my instructions... hopefully I'll wake up and be fine and they can send me home that same day. I must admit it was a little scary talking about stuff that can go wrong. 4 1 3

They speed up the heart to see if you have any blockages sigh😮 Yes, but you'll be under medical supervision so that's much better than when it speeds uncontrollably while you watch drilling documentaries. I will have a nerve block and won't feel my shoulder/arm at all until the next day, which they say is a good thing. And I will be on heavy duty painkillers. Five days in a fitted sling(for months) that can't be taken off... it's strapped to my body. I can't shower until the bandage gets taken off in five days, but I will be doing physio within one week. It's going to be a tough road for months.... 1 1 5 1

You will listen to your doc and physio therapists and will not think you know better and do more than you should. No stupid chair stunts. No stupid what can it hurt lapses in judgement. No stupid anything ... You can undo in a minute what you've spent months of recovery to achieve if you become impatient and do something foolish.
