Talo Segura Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 I started here on GA by posting my first story about a year ago. Since receiving lots of comments and feedback, I realised there was, let's say "room for improvement." I am in the process of revising every chapter which I am marking second edition. My question is simple: I have seen other revised and updated stories (one example indicates version 2, with an author note about the revision at the beginning). There seems no one uniformed method or approach. Given GA is a learning site for new authors, new improved editions of stories are a possible consequence of the system, the participation, and feedback. So, what should be the approach to publishing a second edition? I see there is an Unpublish button, but I'm not sure if this should be used? So far I have simply updated chapters. Is there a way a second edition notice can go out? I'm sure you don't want publication notices for every updated chapter, but perhaps one single notice? I really have no idea how to approach this or if it has been thought about and a uniform method devised. Any advice or recommendations? 3
CassieQ Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 I'm not sure, actually. If the chapters are already revised, I would try using a story note to alert your readers that changes have been made. 3
Thorn Wilde Posted December 15, 2019 Posted December 15, 2019 When I did a slight rewrite of the first Nemesis book, I wrote a short line at the end of the description. 'This story has been slightly reworked for quality and also consistency with the sequels.' 2
