When an Author has Way too much Power

My latest YouTube rabbit hole is watching old Carol Burnett Show clips.  I just came across this one and thought a lot of us could relate to it

Imagine if there were actors playing out some of chapter of our authors that do cliffhangers

Reminds me of these action/battle scenes in writing where the Character is running for their lives, or about to engage with their enemy head on.. and they catch something out of the corner of their eye. They stare at it, every detail is described for paragraphs at a time... and here I am thinking, he's gonna run you through with a sword whilst you're looking at a damn field of daisies blowing in the wind. lol
