So.. seems the readers want some hot demons, do they?

Angel and Demon mythology has always been an interest of mine. I have attempted stories involving both in the past, but I never got anywhere with them, story of my whole writing life really. :D

Still better than STEM Romance, though.

Sexy Demons who push the human limits for pain and pleasure, hmm... :o

Might toy with the idea next year, written a good deal of realism in 2025, might be time to get into Fantasy again.

That makes me sad. Gay demons? What fantasies do people have?

I prefer Eastern Demons, aka animal spirits, to Judeo-Christian demons myself.

The most epic love stories in Chinese and Japanese mythology involve human/demon romances like Legend of the White Snake, where a snake demon falls in love with a mortal man after she met him on a bridge. However, their love is forbidden by Taoist/Buddhists, who declare their love unnatural. A half-immortal priest kidnaps the human man away and try to brainwash him to deny his love for the white snake demon (Aversion therapy isn't really original, lol). Then, heroically, the white snake demon risks her life and fights countless beings to rescue her love from the clutches of the half immortal priest. After saving her beau, they have a son together and live happily ever after (though some stories say the guy dumped her due to peer pressure in the end, but I consider those to be akin to Gore Vidal-esque endings :P )

Thank you, @W_L!

I had not considered at all that the term "demon" has been defined by Judeo-Christian mythology - like most things sadly.

But the Eastern religions do not seem much better:

@lawfulneutralmage, I know you're currently reading my novel Strength of Fate. Without spoiling too much ("demon" is tagged in the story) I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on my take of demons. They could be considered a metaphor for the prejudices people hold against others, purely based on their appearance or where they come from.
