Hey Tara, before I begin my short reply let me you I can't say I've been there because fortunately I haven't, but one of my closest friends called such a place home for a long while and I found that the best way to get out of it is to go to all lengths to make yourself busy and surround yourself with people you love and things/activities that you find pleasure in in order to distract you from whatever is getting you down. In the end life is always worth living and if you feel like you're at the bottom of a pit, there's nowhere to go but up since you already know there's nothing below and to the sides there's nothing worth staying for. You never know wat tomorrow brings and right now, it seems like there's little it could that would make you feel worse. till you turn blue Dargon

I do not want to sound like a 'know-it-all' but I just wanted to make one thing clear. AIDS is a very dangerous condition and to be avoided of course, but just for the record and to be scientifically correct, AIDS just by itself does not kill anyone. What AIDS does is weaken your immune system making it significantly less effective against infections. The HIV is undetected by white cells and uses them to proliferate thus leaving one's organism vulnerable to infections that would be harmless or less threatening if the immune system was working correctly. I go on GA chat and it's usually very interesting. If the convo is not my flavor I'll jsut come back later. It's all good. It can be scary when people seem to know each other very well and you feel like an outsider, but most are welcoming and after a while you'll be part of the circle too.

Westie I find it helps a lot when you're surrounded by said language. You'll see the Czhech will become easier to understand. You'll even end up oicking in stuff you don't even realize you did. But that will take time and is not enough. I started watching English TV at a very young age, when I did not have the ability to grasp the meaning of the words spoken. Of course I watched cartoons only, but those use simple words and are therefore easier to understand. Reading books in Czech that you have already read in English might help too. Good luck mate =D
