LOL. I love this!
-
A good author writes the story in their head, but must take in consideration for the way that story comes across to the readers. Writing is, in my mind, all about flexibility. That and the moving pictures that make up the stories in my head must be let out, or I go a tad bonkers myself. I love that GA lets you interact with all of your favorite authors; and honestly, a lot of the books on publishing I've read have all said to have betas and editors. You see dedications to them in books from mainstream writers that are well known. GA is just a bit wider of a net. Oh, as for the "Why I love..." from Lugh about authors, I think he was aiming to get some fan love pm's about the authors and their stories for the blog. However, it spoils it if you put the response in the post where the author can see it, lol. I don't know that for sure, since he didn't tell me, but it is my assumption.

Just a nice chapter all around, yup! Thanks Bandage, I'm glad you liked it. There are still more there, so you won't run out of reading material!
-
That there was! The next chapter? You could ask, but I would say no. There are 3 more chapters in the system though, so don't worry about me falling behind on this! It's moving right along. Thanks for commenting hun! LOL. Well that was just a bit of fun of mine. Perhaps the planet's evolutionary chain was different than ours. I didn't go too technical on that sort of thing with this story; it was just supposed to be a prompt story. I'm afraid it's not exactly sound science fiction wise, but it is a lovely fantasy! I'm glad you like the story enough to keep reading and commenting, Daddydavek, so thank you!!

OH, well that's chocolate. Doesn't matter what form it comes in, it is ALWAYS time for chocolate!

After a summer apart, Kiron and John face new challenges at school. Getting closer shouldn't be a problem, but Kiron has some very real fears. Will someone come between them, or will they find a way to work things out together?

"Hey John. It's good to see you again." Ramiro had his jacket in one hand as he opened the door to his dorm room at John’s knock. "Did you have a good summer?" He stepped back so John could walk in. John looked at him, not sure if he was coming or going. "Yeah. I wish I could have spent more time with you guys, but I had to work at one of my dad's stores, and then football practice started a few weeks ago. How about you? You just got back this morning, right?" “Yeah, my family went on vacation

Awwww... the sweetness cures the need for cake to celebrate! LOL Happy Birthday hun! I'm so glad you are happy.

No reveals! But yes, you still have 3 chapters lined up in the system to post from this one and I'm working on a new one too! Thanks for the comment hun! Sorry! I have these geared for my blog page, so I try to keep them under 3k if possible. But... you get them every other day to make up for that. Honestly, that puts me at cranking out 6-9k a week on this story, plus working on other projects and online work. I don't think I could do anymore! I'm glad you like the story though. I fixed things Lugh, thanks for pointing it out!

That's just what I was thinking KC!!

Hey it's not my fault my characters lead interesting, often harrowing lives. They're dramatic and they like it, lol. Okay, maybe they don't and I'm just an evil puppet master. I'll never tell!!

Welcome TMcCallahan. There are a lot of great topics in the Writer's and Editor's Corner forums to help improve your writing, if you need that. Please check out the rules under the 'rules' link in the bottom right corner of any forum page. So, we ran out of reviews members have written for the blog about our site authors, so I picked a few stories that members seem to have liked over the last few months, myself included, and pulled a few reviews and comments. If you'd like to share a review on a story you've enjoyed lately please contact Trebs or Renee Stevens. We'd love to feature your thoughts on some of the great work available here! Kiss Me Deadly By Nomoretears Length: 15,941 Status: Complete This story is a new take on an age old tale. Judas, aka Jude, has a story you would never imagine. A mix of historical, modern, and paranormal, it is a story not to be missed! Some member reviews: Wolf By: NightOwl88 Length: 7,435 Status: Complete A young boy's misadventure leads to the creation of a unique friendship between man and beast that lasts a lifetime. Some member reviews: I hope you enjoyed getting to read about a few of the great stories available on this site! Don't forget; read and review!

I'm glad you enjoyed that. Poor Ryker had been through the wringer though! I hope you continue to enjoy the story.

Well deserved, I'd say! Welcome to the ranks of Promising Cassie, we can't wait to see more great stories from you.

Well let's see... I work with many people here on GA! To the Writer's Support Team: Thanks for always being willing to help out with projects! When I've asked for help when I was getting overwhelmed you guys stepped up and it's been great! So thanks again! To all the other mods/admin: You guys are so great! Working as a team is really the only way to manage the site and I think we have a great group that all manage to work together, each picking up the areas they are best at and the slack when someone needs a break. I will always appreciate getting to know you all better. To all the authors I've managed to sucker . . . ahem . . . convince to let me beta read/edit for them: Thanks! There is nothing I like more than new reading material and so many of you are authors I really admire. Getting to talk writing, plot, characters. . . all that is so much fun for me. So thanks! Now, to those who have been on my personal team. First and foremost I have to thank Renee Stevens. What can I say, other than great minds think alike? I've so enjoyed working with you on projects, both yours and mine. When I look back at my work before I met you, and after I met you, I can see a definite improvement. Not only in catching my mistakes, of which there are a lot, but smoothing out my writing in general. Whenever you learn something you are always sharing it with me first thing. I can never say thank you enough. Lugh: Even though you still rarely admit you read my stories, I still like you! You are your own worst critic, but when I need someone who will be harshly honest, I know I can count on you to turn that same eye for detail to my work. You give me great feedback when I bounce ideas off you and I appreciate that so much. John: I love to hear your thoughts on my plots and how they work to the average reader. Sometimes Renee thinks too much like me and we miss how something wouldn't make sense to the readers. You point that out and make my work just that much better. Thank you! Comicfan: Okay, so I haven't really worked with you yet, but you have agreed to help me with a very important project. I'm very grateful, so thank you! For all my readers, thanks! Especially Bandage, who ALWAYS takes the time to comment in my forum. Without your feedback I wouldn't have nearly the drive to write. Your encouragement and obvious enjoyment of my stories is the best reward I can ask for.

3 out of 5 stars? *Pouts* I know it's not as pretty as Lugh's blog entries, but I was working on my almost 3 year old netbook. *shoves lip out*

A look back at this week on GA! This week started off with a review of Tiff's No Fairy Tale World by yours truly! A great story, follow the link if you'd like to see the review if you missed it the first time around. You'll also find a link to the story. We had member reviews of two stories by site authors, Cassie Q and In the mind of Sunshine. Another feature this week was a prompt 114 response story by Andy021278. This weeks prompts, 116 and 117 were both creative cues. One gives you the basic plot and the other was a starting line prompt. Check them out here! A big event on GA this week was the reveal of the Reader's Choice Award winners! CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who was up for nomination and those who won. Every story involved deserved the recognition. CJ, of course, won the King of Cliffhangers award. Everyone needs to make sure they don't let him forget the high honor he so obviously deserves! Thanks to Wildone and Lugh, we also got to see a list of the award winners from the last 5 years in this week's Blast from the Past. It was interesting to see the names of authors move through the lists over the years! You can see it through this link. This week's tip came from Renee. It was all about head hopping; that nefarious practice where your character's thoughts and emotions pop up when they shouldn't. Bad characters! She gives a good set of examples and how to fix them in the blog that can be found here. So... we've looked back, now let's look forward. Spring 2012-Anthology 'It Wasn't Me' is due March 8th. That's Thursday!! The theme can be interpreted in many ways. Participating in the anthology is a great way for authors, especially new authors, to get a larger number of reads on a story. It's also a great way to give readers a taste of your writing, and possibly gaining you more fans. So if you can, submit a story or poem. Information on how to submit can be found in the anthology forum. The next anthology is GA's Poetry 'Cracks in Time' due 4-17-2012.
