i actually didn't love it. (i'm not saying it's specific to the gay community, but i don't have enough experience in the straight community to comment.) Situation One A: Hi, I'm gay. B: Hello, me too! A: I don't like hook ups. B: Neither do I! A: Let's go on a date. B: Okay! (A & B go on date.) A: This has been nice. B: I wish it wouldn't end. Let's go talk somewhere. A: Should we just sit in my car for a while? B: Sure. (A & B hook up in A's car and never speak again.) Situation Two: A: Hi, I'm gay. B: Hello, me too! A: I don't like hook ups. B: Oh, I don't mind them. A: Oh. See you around. B: It's been nice meeting you. (A & B go their separate ways.) ---------- When I'm on OkCupid, for example, I know for a fact that if someone's profile says, "I don't do hook-ups," and I say that I don't either, then I can go on a date with him and usually get to third base. But if I let someone with that same line know that I'm okay with hook-ups, then nothing will happen. pretty interesting... your comments and experiences?

i am interested in this because i've noticed it. any guesses why? some say that our verbal ability is more like females... but i don't know that many girls who have a faculty for language like all the gays i've seen. i wonder if it has something to do with looking for double meanings in what people say to try to tell if they're gay, or changing speech patterns to pass for 'straight.' it's as if we're always practicing language anyway.

i really like flowers. i think i like them picked better than bought. strange memory: last semester for my love and sex philosophy class we were assigned to read some really well-written erotica. i went home to read it and my mom had put lilies in my room and i had bought brie at the grocery store so i was in some like over-luxuriated state. i had my window open too because it was just starting to get warm. imagine!

i have a new digital camera which takes videos with sound (as opposed to my old one which didn't) but they're in .mov format which this operating system (windows xp, service pack 1. rare, i know) won't read. i was planning on posting some things in my blog... and now i can't because i can't see them or post them to youtube. so... if anyone knows where i can download (for free, of course) a good converter so i can have my video files in .avi or .wmv or anything else that would work... do share!
