Chapter 5: Reasonable Doubt
TrevorTime commented on Andrew Q Gordon's story chapter in Chapter 5: Reasonable Doubt
Okay, this will probably be a long review, so please bear with me. On the night in question (October 7th), Jordan and the idiot 5 could not have had any clue as to where Pete would be. The initial plan was for Jason to stay at Pete's and watch a movie, have sex, etc. So in my opinion, Pete running into Jordan and his stooges that fateful night was a complete coincidence. That being said, I'm now having a real problem with the whole timeline of the attack. If we are to believe that Pete wandered around the area of the field house (calling out Jason's name), would that be enough time for Jordan to assemble his assault team and make sure one of them was armed with a baseball bat? How close is Jordan's frat house to the soccer field anyways? So if we are to assume that Pete wandered around for a significant amount of time, then we have to assume that Jordan did have time to plan this (on the fly, obviously) and that once Officer Bennett saw the 6 guys skulking about with a bat, that he knew they were up to no good. I don't see where it makes one iota of difference that Bennett was out of his usual patrol area. If I tried to knock off a liquor store in DC, and a Baltimore cop was there, I highly doubt he would stand there and do nothing. Putting my own personal beliefs aside, I still feel that Jordan is as guilty as sin. The other 5 didn't even know who Pete Gregory was, well, according to facts given in SS and this story. And Jordan was the only one with clear motive, means, and opportunity. Oh well, still another great chapter. Pratner's closing should be fun; then we get to hear what a homophobic piece of shit Jordan really is all about. -
Chapter 4: The Defense
TrevorTime commented on Andrew Q Gordon's story chapter in Chapter 4: The Defense
Jordan's face lost some of its color, and his eyes moved to his attorney. Rankin was scribbling a note when Martin turned to look where Jordan stared. "I'm sorry Mr. Colmar, is the answer to that question somewhere over there?" LMAO, I don't think even Jack McCoy would have said a sarcastic line like that one. "Isn't it also true that in May of 2009, you sought out Coach Williams and specifically told him Jason Tellerman was gay?" Well, if that isn't the nail in the coffin, I don't know what is. Any juror with half a brain has to see that Jordan is a stuck-up homophobic spoiled brat. -
Not a chance. To me, they just look kinda dorky hanging off the end of the vehicle.

Chapter 3: Ex-Friends
TrevorTime commented on Andrew Q Gordon's story chapter in Chapter 3: Ex-Friends
Grrrrr, this chapter really got my blood pressure going. I mean, why can't Jason testify as to his own state of mind? Maybe the words "fag bashed" were a little harsh; he probably should have just said "gay bashed". And let's pretend for a second that Jason is actually straight. There's still no guarantee that he and Jordan would remain friends throughout their whole lives. As was written in SS, Jason became close to Darryl and sort of felt like Darryl was his new best friend. I am reminded of this line in the movie Stand By Me. "Friends come in and out of your life like busboys in a restaurant". It's happened to me before, so why can't it realistically happen to Jason? I see what is happening here, in that idiot Rankin is trying to show the jury that Jordan was justified in what he did. I'm sorry, but an act of attempted murder is no justification in my book. If Jordan wasn't such a spoiled prick he should have just cut his losses and moved on. -
Now this is just sad. I mean, yeah, we have violence at NFL football games now. But to get the crap beat out of you just because you don't like a movie? Ridiculous.

Because they are chick flicks?

Either Spring or Fall, both have similar weather for me. Not summer though, I have seen enough 100 degree days to last a lifetime.

Chapter 2: The Victim
TrevorTime commented on Andrew Q Gordon's story chapter in Chapter 2: The Victim
Wow, just wow. Best chapter of this story so far and ranks up there with the best of SS. I loved all the little "reveals", to me, this totally expanded upon Second Shot's #24 (Pick A Side). "He left and I stewed about it for a couple hours. I called my best friend in Minnesota and, after we talked, I realized I was wrong to pressure Jason like that. So this is our first indication that Pete called Bryce that night. Funny how I never would have imagined he would do that. "I was about to push my way through them when I heard someone behind me. Jordan yelled, 'now' and that's the last thing I remember from that day." We have to speculate that someone hit Pete on the head with the bat (or something, I mean, he did end up in a coma). If DA Pratner is smart, he will address that "now" comment on re-direct. "Jordan screamed when you nearly broke his wrist, isn't that true?" LMAO, you just have to love the way that defense attorneys twist the truth around. I so want to smack this guy six ways to Sunday. -
Chapter 1: Call Your First Witness
TrevorTime commented on Andrew Q Gordon's story chapter in Chapter 1: Call Your First Witness
Good chapter, but it was also somewhat frustrating. I mean, you know and I know that Jordan beat the crap out of Pete, but I have this small sinking feeling that somehow he is going to walk. "What can I do for you, Mr. Colmar?""Don't act like you don't know what you're doing. How much did Barbara Tellerman pay you to come after my son like this?" LoL, I have seen stupid people before, but Hank Colmar really takes the cake here. In what universe is threatening the DA a good idea? Any hope of leniency if Jordan takes a plea bargain just got flushed down the toilet. -
They were both a strength and a weakness for him. As witnesses, they were strong. They presented well, were polite, affable, articulate. But they were a gay couple. How would the jury view that? Well, I have never served on a jury. But from what I know, a juror has to agree to be unbiased. For example, if a defendant is Asian, then a prospective juror cannot be prejudiced against Asian people. Isn't that the whole point of Voir Dire? And yes, Hamerton (or Harrisburg) isn't San Francisco, but I really don't think that should make a difference. "Seems Jordan's mother made herself a bad enemy in the person of Barbara Tellerman". This made me chuckle. If there is one thing I know it's that you don't piss off someone who has a shitload of money AND a serious revenge agenda. It's somewhat ironic in that there is total turn of events here. At first we had Hurricane Barb thinking that Jason was going to drag her family down. And now we have Jordan Colmar who is bringing more shame to his own family than he ever could have imagined. Karma sure is a bitch sometimes, isn't it?

For me, I initially look for one genre, and that's coming of age (or coming out, if you will). When I realized I was gay, I struggled with it, tried to deny it, then finally came to terms with it. Luckily, I was online for the first time right about that time and I realized I was not alone with these confusing feelings. Fast forward ten years and somehow I ended up at this website. And somewhere along the line comes this truly amazing story called Second Shot which just literally knocked me out of my socks. To be honest, in all of my years of reading gay fiction on the net, only four previous stories had stood out clearly in my mind: Bill W, You Pass This Way But Once, the ending is semi-tragic. Bill W, Boy For Hire, and only because the MC was also named Trevor. Bill W, Castaway Hotel, I started that at Nifty and finished it here. Dom Luka, Desert Dropping, only because the MC and I are both from Arizona. All four of those are really good stories, but to be honest, none of them had the emotional impact on me like 2nd Shot did. Now granted, my relationship with my BF has had its ups and downs, but seeing as how I'm just barely older than Jase and Pete, I feel like I want to smack them silly for every single mistake that they make (cuz I've been there, done that).

Tennis shoes or Flip Flops....Random and totally stupid
TrevorTime replied to Naptowngirl's topic in The Lounge
Hmmm, where I'm at, it's guys under 20 or so, that are doing the flip-flop thing. Over 20 it's almost always tennis shoes. -
I just recently became a member of Spotify, the URL is www.spotify.com. Anyways, I highly recc this new online music service. There seems to be a large variety of music, but for me, the selling point is the sound quality. It's truly amazing for MP3 sound. I have a fairly expensive set of laptop headphones, and I noticed that the stereo separation was incredible. I did side by side comparison (of the same song) with Pandora, Slacker, You Tube, and Last.fm. And in every single time, Spotify's sound quality was better. Another nice feature is you can sync up songs to your "library" and build your own playlist. So I did this with songs from Glee, and it was minimal effort. The one drawback to Spotify is that there are ads, but not an over-abundance of them. A small price to pay for such a great service.

If it's a story from one of my favorite authors (and I am reading it for the first time), then I read it slowly. I want to capture the entire essence of the story. But if it's something I have read before, then I almost always skim through it.

Saw the first Harry Potter movie on HBO or Showtime or one of the movie channels, I forget which one. And I was somewhat underwhelmed. So I made no effort to see any of the other ones. I checked online to see what the ticket prices were for this newest one. 11 freakin' dollars at some theaters! Forget that; you would have to pay ME to wait in line for hours to watch this drivel.

For me, it's the toppings. It's funny, when I was a little kid I only liked cheese pizza or pepperoni pizza. Now I like the veggies, the sausage, the Canadian bacon, everything.

I like this guys hair. Not sure if that's what they call a "half-burr" or not but it looks nice. Sort of buzzed without being totally buzzed off.

I dated this bi-sexual guy in the past (Brian). I knew going into the relationship that he was bi and that he was also friends with this girl. And of course, the friendship with the girl turned into something more. So naturally, I called his bluff and flat out told him that hey, this is not the way I play the game. So he promised to stop "doing" her. I mean, it's not like I gave him a hard time whenever he wanted a booty call with me. However, his faithful-ness only lasted about 6 months before he strayed again. So that was the end of that and I kicked him to the curb. Even though he begged me to reconsider, it just wasn't going to happen. I've never cheated on any of the three boyfriends I have had in my life, so I expect the same treatment in return.

Parents forcing sex change on children as young as 1
TrevorTime replied to pitchan's topic in The Lounge
I could not agree more. That whole article made me want to hurl. What kind of 3rd world nonsense are they doing over there in Indore? -
There once was a guy named Trevor, who didn't understand the word "never", They said, no more Second Shot, he asked, why the Hell not?, then he sulked and said, duh whatever.

Nope, I am a heavy sleeper. Small noises like a dog barking won't wake me up at all. I haven't used an alarm clock since high school. I just wake up automatically; it's almost like my body is trained to do that. Not drinking any caffiene the night before sure helps though.

Chapter 17: First Time for Everything
TrevorTime commented on Andrew Q Gordon's story chapter in Chapter 17: First Time for Everything
LOL @ Ice Queen. Yeah, there are times I want to reach through my computer screen and smack "the Barb" six ways to Sunday. Over the years in a lot of other gay fiction that I have read (mostly at Nifty), it seems like the moms are actually okay with having a gay son. Kudos to SS for giving us a different outlook on things, a "voice of dissent". -
Yupp, it's awesome that we have straight ppl who come here and enjoy our stories. Good writing is good writing.

Justin Berfield from Malcolm In The Middle. Whenever I grow my hair out, I style it and spike it just like he does.

Let's go with "better half". That phrase has a nice ring to it.
