Just the sneaky twist aspect, is the jailbird the same jailbird father or perhaps the other jailbird brother, and real father. 🤣 I have my own twisted mind of suspense cliffhangers. Though @kbois seems to indicate they’re one and the same and not being released anytime soon…released being a technical term of incarceration; does a jailbreak play into yet another homophobic twist? 😈

On top of that most likely in debt and owing taxes all while they burn bridges quitting their jobs and less than ceremoniously having said farewell (up yours, I'm rich) to employers.
-
In the mean time, the boys learn or decide whether to tough it in and out own their own. 🙃

Money can tend to ruin many a good thing.

Yup, every boy going through puberty learns that lesson through positive feedback…feels so good, practice more, practice often, practice now, again. Hot showers are great, more practice.
-
But with that Trust, now the boys can enlarge that shower and add more solar panels/generator power to take nice steamy showers.

Summer job I believe it was…perhaps chp1??

Has Gage been busy restoring that 55 Chevy since he gained access?

Oh, the jail bird brother. No doubt will be hearing more of and from that, dear brother. What exactly the relationship is to miles is another question. As a jailbird, how long had he been incarcerated? Is he Miles‘s uncle or are there more family secrets as to who and what his relationship is to Miles; especially given that Miles says his family life always felt off.
-
Amazingly enough, when the state was looking for family members to take Miles in the uncle was the only family member willing and able, however, upon this estate being filed in public record, I would not be surprised to find that suddenly there are other family members that could have taken him in and now find themselves magically in a position to help the poor child with his $13.7 million. One would think the court would rapidly dismiss such shenanigans, but unfortunately, between court and lawyers, they do love to drag things out with due process. This of course could also challenge Eric‘s guardianship as the very people trying to gain access would say they are more justify and arguably next of kin, and should be the temporary guardians until assign permanently. With the long drawn out process, this of course means that Miles would reach the age of 18 before any of this will get settled, and the point would be moot. However, what it would accomplish is separating miles from Troy, Eric, and they quickly adopted happy home that Miles has come to know. Hopefully that is not the next twister turn on the horizon, but I guess the big cliffhanger for this chapter is that the expected cliffhanger is hidden like an Easter egg so the suspense of this cliffhanger is where the hell is it? And when will it hit?

Richard, all Richard, I’m not sure you should be trusting or putting your trust in Nickolas. The unexpected return along with the delayed Sunday reunion just doesn’t build confidence and instead makes me think this is a way for Nicholas to truly join his gang of new friends. Perhaps I’m being overly skeptical by Nicholas’s behavior doesn’t give me much faith in his sincerity. Young City boys STU, has found a hero in Vicky, and I must say paying homage to a worthy victor is perhaps the best way to choose your heroes. While Mr. Jane things, he has disciplined Vicky into more respectful behavior, or should we say more compliant behavior, I think he fails to realize he may have won his personal battle, but fails to realize he has lost the war to an enemy of his making.

If would be hilarious if the Moxies Cafe was another of Stu’s part-time jobs…and just happened to be working Sunday at 1000 Sunday morning; whether a show or no-show for Nickolas it would most likely be a win for both Richard and Sizzler Boy.

Discovery And Banishment
Philippe commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in Discovery And Banishment
Well, since the many changes to our military after the don’t ask don’t tell policy was retired for gay is ok, perhaps this military dad does go both ways. Kurtis could find himself the military brat to two dads or a dad with a BF. -
Such confusion, Kent left home and Ken to get space from Ken. Yet now he feels guilty when he has achieved or is entertaining the thoughts that Randy is indeed more than a good friend. The relationship he has with Ken especially as a twin will probably never change, except the pressures to keep normalcy limits. Randy understands Kent better than he understands himself it seems. So this developing relationship is so new but at the same time it’s the same as with Ken, where they know each other so completely that everything is comfortable and reassuring.

Discovery And Banishment

Didn’t realize you had a break in work but I’m assuming working again is a good thing at this point, so congratulations. The story has a great start, I too am looking forward to seeing how this one goes. Though mom seems to be having a tough time herself, one has to wonder why and how is it that she doesn’t think she can separate from the man and situation she is in…especially as she sits back and watches her son banished from the only home and father he has known. Though he’s an ass, he is still the only father and a part of the family the kid has known. Now he loses both the mom and dad as he is hastily tossed out. So kudos to mom for trying to help some but neither of these parents get the Get-Out- Jail-Free card from me. Hopefully the bio dad will recognize some characteristic of young Kurtis so that at least they get a fair chance at starting their father/son relationship.- 55 comments

Sometimes the path of convenience is not the same as the path of honesty or the path that has you sharing a child with an out of state/country dad. An unsuspecting nice young guy that can love her and be a full time dad is more like the ole picket fenced homestead with tw9 kids and a dog…or is it?

The civil courts may not be in a full schedule but coordinating, emailing, and scheduling meetings does occur on lawyer weekends. Likewise special courts convene in jails throughout the week as a speedy trail doesn’t mean normal business days, non-holidays, or conveniently scheduled hearings to levy or dismiss charges.

I was a mentor volunteer at a group home. From what I saw continuously was bureaucracy sitting in offices deciding what the perfect family should be, when kids had been parked in group homes for years. The perfect family doesn’t exist, you just need families that want it to happen and have reasonable finances and health to make a placement that emulates an average family for an average child. The metrics need to focus on child placements with the average families available for them, leaving them parked for years is a crime against the children you tore from families putting them at risks. But a parked and then timed out 18yo, without financial training, probably very little to no job history, no license, no car, and unable to accept government help, because they have learned to hate and resent the government programs. So under government care, waiting for the perfect family, we have a child with no support system, no family, and has a VERY HIGH probability of destitution and/or incarceration within one year even worse, looking out for two years; it’s a very sad and probably the most overlooked government fiasco in my mind. A child stagnant in the system is most likely a problem with the system, and not the child; especially when the Department of child and family services has applicants that they turn down while having kids parked in their system for years.

Emancipation often looks at the family standing, education, financial, etc. to evaluate where and how to help the kid reach their normal standard and expectations…up to around 25, which would normally means college/trad and a steady career job. Miles doesn’t get his full trust access until 25, between uncles assets and the trust allowances Miles may not have the financial capacity for emancipation. But even larger is the fact that Miles ran away. This is not demonstrating responsibility the courts are looking for. Furthermore, explaining why he ran and when could very well re-open the uncle’s death investigation. Emancipation is not the best option most likely.

You just now figuring that out? I’m not monogamous, I'm ambidextrous! A threesome can bring extra energy to the situation and it never gets out of hand either.

Ahhh, but the wonderful bureaucracy of child protective services hasn’t been awakened to Miles yet. They don’t like out of state guardians but they can also be asses about transferring administrative responsibility to another state. You’d think they would love to get Miles off their books but I’ll believe it when I see it. Miles also has an estate, so the state law probably allows they to tap into that estate for the wonderful care, administration, guardianship they’re bound to pat themselves on the back for. 😠 That system is broken in most states and/or counties in the US. The bureaucracy gets so convoluted that group home occupancy seems more important than finding forever home or good health foster homes.

With some of that drama wrapped in Murphy’s Law to give a head shaking comedy of errors.

Yay, the cooler heads prevailed and finally the stubborn teen demons were put to rest…hopefully for good. This story captures just how stubborn the young mind can be, even when the seemingly overwhelming evidence speaks volumes against that stubborn logic. Unfortunately, not all cases resolve with friendships undamaged or without new friendships making the old something more of history…it can happen that quickly in youth. This story captures that youthful logic but rewards us with a recovery from the illogical and gives us a happy reunion, relationship, and ending. A neat short story that brought us full circle as to how perhaps friendships are worth fighting for.

After the way Nicholas dumped him without text, phone calls, or a visit, then who cares about Nicholas. Hopefully Stu is as nice as he seems. He didn’t waste any time getting a job so he definitely likes his own financial rewards; gas, dates, clothes, dates, accessories, dates…
