I blame it all on Luke and Noah. Way back when, I was into the Luke and Noah (Nuke), storyline on "As the WorldTurns" before the soap was cancelled. While I was reading an article about Nuke in one of the soap opera magazines, the author mentioned fan fiction that was written about the characters. The site was fanfiction.net, so I checked it out immediately. I found pretty good stories there about the two characters, some even pretty mature. One reviewer mentioned more 'adult' stories over on adult-fanfiction.org and from there someone mentioned Nifty (and where Cia was scared of all those half-naked boys on the side of the screen, I was mortified that I clicked on this while MY KIDS WERE WALKING AROUND! lol). From then on I knew I could only check out that site when the kids were in school. I was still reading Nuke stories on fanfiction.net and I came across Sid, (SidLove), who was also a big Nuke fan. He wrote quite a few good stories about them. I reviewed many of his stories and he asked if I could edit them. He told me about GA and said I should join but I needed to list myself as an editor otherwise I wouldn't be able to edit his stories, or he wouldn't be able to acknowledge me. Coincidentally, around the same time I found this other site (I can't remember which one now), that recommended Dom Luka's "Desert Droppings" and the link brought me right to GA. "Desert Droppings" was the very first story I ever read on here and I became a big Dom Luka fan. I find it so interesting that so many members have come here because they were reading Dom Luka's stories. As for why I read gay romance stories...I find them way more interesting than m/f stories. Male/female - been there, done that, you know? I find the dynamics between two boys different than with a boy and a girl. I've met so many awesome people on this site and the community is so friendly and welcoming. I have also found that the stories here are of a higher caliber than on other sites. Joining this site was one of the best things I've ever done. =) Jeez, I think I wrote a novel. I gotta stop doing that.

Chapter 7 - Love at last!
Lisa commented on EricMorrison's story chapter in Chapter 7 - Love at last!
I agree with Sammie; this was a perfect chapter. I'm so glad Danny and Jake are together at last! I loved the way stupid Steven outed himself. lol And yes, I'd be interested in hearing his backstory. You are a very talented writer, Eric and I hope to read more from you. =) -
Sui - that song was really beautiful! As I said before - you can give up your day job now. I'm proud of Jae for 'growing up' and not giving Harry a hard time. After all, it's not like he'll never see Dan again. lol I'm also glad he was able to convey to Dan how much he means to him. Dan was smart to recognize the love Jae had for him coming through that song. Great chapter, Sui!

I'm sitting here w/tears streaming down my face. What a fantastic story!!! I love the way everything is based on the rain. Well, I know it has to, based on the song, but you did an awesome job with it. I also love the way you never mentioned Nate's boyfriend's name, but most importantly, I love the way they got back together!!!! That's the best kind of HEA! =)

You sucked me in Cole, I hope you're happy! I cried for poor Zegan, but I cried more for Yadrey. Poor kid. Ok, so now I know, I should be reading YOUR chapters first! lol I read Addy's, then Jo Ann's and finally yours. I got it all backwards. lol Asmo (was that his name), is all-knowing. How is it possible to get anything by him? And it doesn't look like Taranis is going to be getting paid anytime soon. I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment.

Writing Tip: Best/worst Part I - Promising Authors
Lisa commented on Renee Stevens's blog entry in Writing World
I LOVED this blog!!! I'm fascinated by what authors think. There's only a handful of authors I've communicated with (that I wasn't editing for), so to read about these other authors and what they think about their reviews is wonderful. I found myself reading Jo Ann's post and nodding my head because I feel the same way about some genres. I find myself veering away from the "norm", and reading about things I never would normally: talking wolves (gasp!), ghosts (double gasp!), just because of the author who is penning the story. I would never write a nasty review. If I didn't like the chapter due to excessive violence or whatever, I might mention that but not in a mean way. The authors on here are writing yes, for themselves, but also to entertain us and I would never want to hurt anyone's feelings. If I couldn't get through a chapter because there were so many spelling, grammar, etc. errors, then I would PM the author. I wouldn't put up anything derogatory where everyone could read it. I have only read two of the stories listed, but I have read other stories from all of the authors except one. But now I gonna scour through Mann's story just for the raunchy, steamy shower scene! -
Description of Gaia-Town
Lisa commented on Cole Matthews's story chapter in Description of Gaia-Town
Ok, so you convinced me, Cole. I'm reading it. -
That real life quote from Dylan really broke my heart. You know, these bullies have no idea how much their words hurt their victims. These stupid kids think they're being all macho and manly, talking down to others and bullying the kids they perceive as weak. They have no idea how the victims are going to react after the hate they spew. Maybe that wasn't the only bully in the victim's life. Maybe he's being beaten up at home. How much beating up, physically and emotionally, can kids really take before they reach the end of their rope? But their tormentors don't care. They don't see this. They just want a laugh and a high-five from their idiot friends. I'm glad Sam realized what he did was so horrific that "Oliver" wound up in the hospital. I'm glad he was sorry. Maybe he'll think twice next time. But the other kid, the big redhead kid, he should be expelled. What an asshole. And how many Dylans are there in the world who have to take this day in and day out? How long before one or more of them just give up, never seeing that light at the end of the tunnel? I could go on and on but I'm going to stop. This was a great chapter, Elias. I'm glad the bullies are leaving Oliver alone now that he's not bringing attention to himself. Isn't it ridiculous how these kids act? Just b/c a kid dresses differently they think that gives them the right to bully them. How are kids being brought up these days?

Oh that s.o.b. Derek! It I didn't know any better I would have said he planned this. Wait, maybe he did! Maybe he called Eli and set it up where Eli would barge in right when Derek had Noah trapped. The s.o.b. Now Eli's gonna think Noah was cheating on him and arrange to meet Derek there just for that purpose. I hope Eli listens to reason when Noah tries to talk to him. Noah needs to tell Eli how he feels. I just hope Eli doesn't think Noah's confessing is feelings just b/c he caught him with Derek. I hope he knows Noah really means it.

I think Mark's father is an absolute idiot. I'm sorry, maybe it's b/c I don't come from a military family, for for God's sakes, what difference does it make what division of the military his son is in? He should be damn proud of him for enlisting in the first place! And just b/c generations of men in the family made a career out of it, it is not for everybody. He should be proud that Mark did his tours and came out in one piece, never mind the fact that he was in the army. Be proud of your son for even enlisting. People like that get me so angry. Anyway...Trey's folks are great. I hope Mark doesn't start to resent Trey b/c his parents are so cool with him and Mark's parents won't even talk to their son. That's utterly ridiculous. Life is too short to hold stupid grudges, especially when your kids are involved. Well, I've said my piece. lol Or is it 'peace'? I looked it up once but I don't remember now... Great chapter, Renee!

I agree w/both you and Cole, Addy; I love Fear! The conversations between him and Taranis are very funny. You know, it didn't occur to me when I read this the first time, but is Endora based on the Endora from "Bewitched?" Although that show is wayyyyyyyy before your time.

Oh man, this is so bad!!!! No one will think twice when they see Dimitri. Oh, but wait!!! The boys saw him when he was with The Scar/Jerry in Australia. I hope to hell they recognize him!!!!
-
Excellent chapter, as always CJ! =) The Scar is not going to be happy when he finds out Dimitri and Mario fucked up (Mario mainly, thanks to Gunter, may he RIP), and his Suburban is now in the custody of the US government.
-
Terrific first chapter, JT! I'm wondering why Kasey (and where did he get that nickname from the name Ken? lol), had to take a medical leave. Was it b/c of some project he was working on for the FBI? I'm looking forward to the next chapter. Oh, and laundry room and best friend should not be capitalized, unless 'laundry' or 'best' are the beginning of the sentence. =)

YES!!! Another awesome song by Falco! "Don't turn around uh-oh...." Sorry, now this song is in a loop in my head. It'll come in handy when I have to go out and shovel again! It'll give me something to concentrate on other than the snow. =)

Lol, The Outsiders, were you thinking of Matt Dillon? Love him too, but Matt Dallas is about fifteen years younger than Matt Dallas. Matt Dallas was on Kyle XY a few years ago. But yes, The Outsiders is a great movie/book, and now it's a great song by Eric Church! lol

I'd love to hear the old man's story. And I bet it's great to be called a boy when you're fifty. =) Great job, Kitt.

Chapter 2 - The Prince and His Pauper
Lisa commented on Andy78's story chapter in Chapter 2 - The Prince and His Pauper
I love that the Particians (I probably spelled that totally wrong! Sorry!), have to give a percentage of their income to the Plebians, but Mildreda (or is it Mildredia?), gives more, especially to Nate's family. Poor Josh and Nate - they are really going to miss each other so much. Excellent chapter, Andy! -
Aaron! I love your new story! THE crazy white lady is something else, I'll tell you! Dallas has to be in by EIGHT pm every night? What a wacko! lol I love the name Dallas too; I always think of Matt Dallas. Actually, his grandma is so concerned with beatin' the devil out of him, she should be more concerned with his cancer stick habit. lol Excellent chapter and totally engaging. Can't wait for the second one! =)

Poor Oliver, having to stand there and listen to that stupid changing room employee. But yay for Luce for sticking up for him! She was hysterical about the bi people who always want to fuck everybody! (I was totally paraphrasing there!) And that shopkeeper was pretty creepy what with his seeming to know so many things about the group of friends. Especially Jean. How do they know each other? Why was he sort of warning Oscar to help Jean? Inquiring minds (ok, mine), want to know!!!! lol
-
I betcha it was Mario that just ate the big one. Thank God for those biker guys. Omg, what an exciting chapter! And wait! Isn't Barbra still holding on the other line? lol
-
Stupid question: how does Jim go about waltzing into a gun store in Telluride and waltzing out with five guns? Doesn't he need to apply for these and wait weeks maybe, in order to have them in his possession? Also...I thought Gunter was married. He mentioned a wife at one point. I would think she would have contacted Helen to find out where Gunter was. Then at least Helen would know something happened to him. I would have actually liked to read about the conversation in the White House that led to the US negotiating with the terrorist (The Scar). Maybe in this coming chapter...

Still a great fucking song. lol

Death Above and Death Below
Lisa commented on C James's story chapter in Death Above and Death Below
Well, you have redeemed yourself, CJ. lol Whew! What a relief! I just hope that the general takes what Helen said seriously and he doesn't just get rid of the GPS. I think she should have waited until she was able to get to an FBI branch...Idk... Also, stupid Mario told the truth; he should not have said anything, although The Scar would have found out anyway with all the media buzz. They better not trust anybody... -
I didn't hit the 'like' button b/c I do not like this chapter!!!!! They hit the wrong code and now they're going to be killed by their own country's fighter jets!!!!! I'm sitting here horrified. Thank God I can read the next chapter though!!! This all better be a dream/nightmare and one of them is gonna wake up and know it's not real. There's no way this could be real: you're not going to kill off the whole band plus Helen???? Although you did kill off poor Gunter. Damn it.
