What are the consequences if the ship the nobles came in doesn't return? Will it be assumed lost at sea, or will others come to investigate?

Are these moments/interludes the proverbial calm before an impending storm or ship-to-ship action? And what of the letter our friend with the broken arm holds, a compound fracture if I remember correctly, these types of breaks can be very nasty!

Then there are Matthew's sexual pecadillos...he's not exactly walking one path....

Joel, caught in a war with an intolerant mother and a browbeaten father. An older brother who can't tie his own shoes without fucking it up, a lazy slob, and yet remains the apple of his mother's eye...what do you mean, get a job??? Then there is Joel's younger brother Cody, caught in a war not of his making. Gavin and Davin, most likely the result of birth control that failed...think broken condom or the script for the pill wasn't refilled...That the parents were more concerned about the accidental pregnancy rather than the resulting children tells one everything they need to know... Trace and Celia are they parents to a spoiled rotten child, or guilty of smothering him to the point of rebellion? One thing we know for certain, dysfunction knows no class distinctions....

What happens when you have shifters, witches, and vampires all at odds with each other, when a young man, seemingly from nowhere, suddenly appears and is tossed into the mix? Enthralling, hard-to-put-down reading. It reminds me of the old song, Dont Stop Me Now!!!

One can only hope it won't take another 42 chapters for the two of them to have a stolen interlude where they can reach an accommodation of both mind and body... As I recall, from the beginning of this saga, it is some 23 years between the beginning of this story and Pitt's guest arriving at his humble retirement abode (see prologue)...I may be patient at times, but to think that it would take 23 years for the clothes to come off strains the borders of incredulity beyond comprehension...

Will Lt Stuck on Himself have the good graces to thank Blake for saving his life, and saving the lives of the rest of the landing party?
