Gonna be a hot time in the old town tonight...

What he said.... I am just along for the ride, I know better than to guess ....

I hate it when that happens...or is it interrupted???? "Shouldn't you change the sheets first?" Barnaby asked, his deep voice carrying a dry, clinical undertone. "The temporal residue in there is quite volatile, and quite frankly, the bedding was already structurally compromised before we left."

WTF..... However I thought Halloween was going to go, it definitely didn’t include making out with Ash Reeves on the floor of a stranger’s house, with come in both our mouths. It also didn’t include the loud bang from downstairs, followed by repeated pops and screaming. Ash and I push apart, staring at each other in horror. At least the boys got their ends wet....

Kamyk has a plan, the beginning of a plan, the concept of a plan, the thought of a plan...o shite....

The Major's Perspective
drsawzall commented on Lee Wilson's story chapter in The Major's Perspective
I looked like that at 13, just so you know...the following clip will attest to that... Bing Videos -
To land in paradise, and we all know of at least one snake in the grass, or is it the coffee beans...Slow is the operative word of the day; best not to spill one's hand until the players reveal themselves. Two months should be sufficient time to understand the forces against Julian, and to make the wise countermoves. Trust no one and verify; start with the books first, understand the yield, what it should be and what it is recorded as. Keep one's cards held closely to the vest before making any decisions. It would be good to see other plantations to gauge and contrast....

This should be a very interesting life, and a long one at that, Brian, a scourge in any timeline...

Hopefully, the collaboration between Neil and Emmer not only works but also sparks the latent creative talent that Neil has. In my years of schooling, it was the teachers who helped open the process of how to look at things, from different directions that worked the best for me.... “The question isn’t whether Emmer knows about woodcarving, it’s whether he’s a good teacher and can help you focus. Give it a try and stop putting yourself down. OK?”

The following comment makes me rethink who the killer is....Is Bastien a Black Widow...a femme fatale???? Bastien grinned and pushed Lawrence onto his back, straddling him. “Why did you do that?” Lawrence asked. Bastien’s lips twitched. “No one hurts one of mine without paying for it.” What could Lukas von Keller have done, indeed, if he was Bastien's lover? Wouldn't he spare no effort to find out who did it or how he died, unless he was driven to the point of suicide....

Again, Eldric is among the missing, Abe and his stomach issues...he's taking quite a long time getting over whatever is bothering him, and did I read this correctly, Herr Becker may not be aware of all the boys' activities??? And as a foolish random thought from out of nowhere....Herr Becker and Eldric????😉

The Firework Committee
drsawzall commented on Richie Tennyson's story chapter in The Firework Committee
I have to say the ending was fitting. It's late for me; I have been working on my anthology submission and am late with my response and reading. I need to re-read and go back to the beginning of the story. I get that Dikckoless and Richard were, at Dickoless' suggestion, to take a break, but wasn't it Richard being ghosted? Regardless, this was a fantastic story, and thanks for this; it was a hit, as you can see from all the comments -
The tenth-year reunion- what memories it brings back. Of course, at our last reunion, the most exciting thing was when Mark Bishop lost his false teeth in the punch bowl, pantomiming a bad joke...I kid you not, things like that happen at your 50th...wait and see...Wheelchairs and walkers can be a menace to society...just sayin....

If Noah is of age, where he can tell a judge his decision as to what parent he would like to live with, then he should be encouraged. I have to wonder what percentage of pastors who are extreme are guilty of sex crimes....

Loved this chapter, Levi picking up on the subtle tension between he and his father. As a young man, I loved to go skinny-dipping. The first time was at Cranberry Pond, just a stone's throw from the University of Massachusetts. After we parked the car, we walked down to the beach, and everything was fine. No problems at all, that is, until a young teen boy my age stripped off right in front of me, giving me a view (that would later be the cause of many nights of...well, let's not go there....) of everything that made him unique...my dash to the water was blazingly fast, if you know what I mean. Later on, when I had things better under control, we were able to have a great conversation. However, he lived too far to take things further...Oh...but what an afternoon... Good on Levi, and as others have noted, let's hope this begins a new chapter...

If you are using the American method of dating, that was a month and a day I looked forward to as I approached legal drinking age...today...not so much...

Wonder where this will lead to... ‘And that is?’ Lennart smirked as if he already knew what Lars was about to say. ‘The appropriate key for that entrance, the key that under normal circumstances only residents on the south and west side are supposed to have.’ ‘The most obvious way to tackle this is to check photos of all residents for potential candidates and let Tim have a look at them. If Tim can recognize this guy right away from the surveillance footage, he can also identify him on the photos all residents have to supply when renting or purchasing an apartment here.’

You always hurt the one you love, not so in this case, wait a freeking minute, it just may be true, Dickoless' self-destructive behavior is hurting the only thing he is capable of loving...himself... “That’s because I was going to cross it out, but ...” “But you didn’t. Because you know it’s true.” I open my mouth but nothing comes out. “Nicholas has been lying to Carrie,” Darren says, “leading her on for weeks. He’s been lying to everyone. I got changed in the same fucking room as that faggot.” “You shouldn’t use that word,” I say weakly. “If someone’s a faggot, they’re a faggot. That’s what I told Nicholas tonight. I called him and he denied it, but I said, why would Richy Bitchy make that up?” Dickoless needs a come to Jesus moment, what lies is he telling Sizzler Boy??? And massive hours of therapy...and sobriety...

Thank you for this and making me use what's left of my brain, while it got convoluted at times for me, I would not change a thing.

Oooofff...Has Ingomar been cast as a man with no country because of who he loves...Can there ever be a future for him in his homeland? Is there the promise of a possible future standing with Rome and with Marcus? He had stepped forward without deciding to, in front of every free man who mattered in his country, and confirmed with his own mouth exactly what Segestes had wanted confirmed. He turned that over now with the wind pulling at his cloak, and understood, standing alone with the assembly’s noise still fading behind him, that he had been given his first taste of what it looked like when a man’s own people could no longer say with certainty which face of him was true, laid bare and public and impossible to take back — and that he had walked into it himself, plainly, when silence would have cost him nothing at all. And the 64-thousand-dollar question: where is the bottom? Will he have time to find it, or will the decision be made for him? “Yes.” Ingomar said it plainly, no softening in it, because he had decided, sometime on the long ride back, that plainness was the only honest gift he had left to offer tonight. “I find, all the same, that I am no longer willing to let the fear decide anything for me. I have watched what it costs a man to spend his whole life managing what others think of him. I would rather spend mine on something I have chosen for myself.” He let out a breath that did not quite settle him the way he wanted it to. “I do not think I have found the bottom of it yet, if I am honest. Only the willingness to keep standing in it.”

All I got is...time will tell...and hopefully they have broken the cycle...but, this gives me pause and food for thought.. Christopher watched him for a few moments before continuing towards the school. Halfway up the hill he looked back. Marco had already disappeared among the winter streets.

I wonder if the Princess will take the voyage to the island described below.. "Before that, I want your opinion on one matter. You are a well-read man — have you ever heard mention of a tower built on an island, and of the beast that sleeps within it?" Otello hadn't, but he leaned closer and listened as Andreuz Sandkan told of a tower beyond time and place, where an evil beast awaited the coming of the Deathbringer.

I'm not sure Dickoless's group has come to realize that he and Sizzler Boy are a couple. I would imagine the blank face is Dickoless nerves at the possibility of being outed... Vicky now needs to focus on Sizzler Boy, letting him know what a sanitary napkin he is... I also panicked when I saw the story withdrawn and managed to find it after sending an email to the author Harriet’s escorting me from Calculus to English, our last class of the day. Harriet’s explaining cubic equations to me when we turn a corner in the corridor and find ourselves face to face, not just with Nicholas, but with Nicholas and his entire group: Stu, Lisa, Darren, Carrie, Marcus, and Georgia Johns. They’re all laughing and talking over the top of each other. Nicholas doesn’t even notice me standing there. None of them do. I don’t realise I’ve come to a stop until Harriet prods me in the back and hisses, “Keep walking!” It’s too late. Stu notices me. “Sizzler boy! Where have you been hiding all week?” Nicholas looks up. For a split second, he looks blank, like he has no idea who I am. The others don’t stop talking. Nicholas is trying to remember where he knows me from. Eventually, he opens his mouth to say something, but I don’t get to hear what it is, thanks to Harriet.
