And here I am driving a decade old F-250.....
-
Uh-oh...... Khonsu appeared in their midst, but it seemed that only Reggi could see him. “Treasure this day, for there are dark days ahead.” and then he disappeared. Reggi did not know what to make of that.

Nuff said, we'll just have to agree to disagree....

Interesting to see the family dynamic and wondering what comes next!

Looks like a bumpy ride coming our way....

Dubious smuggling, secret packages
drsawzall commented on Robert Hugill's story chapter in Dubious smuggling, secret packages
The A-Hole ain't going away, with his limited brain power, and we know where it went courtesy of @Summerabbacat's comment, regarding the testing of bowel samples for cancer. I suspect the A-Hole was so bound up the day he sent his sample in, what remained of his limited cognitive ability passed for the sample.... He's the very sort when threatened to lash out, doubly so when it's one of those folks getting him into hot water...Jasper’s been scathing about everything the boy’s interested in. The man’s mouthing off about filthy queers worried Toby so much that he came out to me. I don't think Jasper can take this insult to his manhood as he should, more to the point, and I hope I am wrong, but Deirdre just may be in trouble as well. Ask yourself, if it is known among his 'mates' that he wants to catch young Toby out, how badly would he want to do so now??? Let's hope some 'evidence' somehow is found with the A-Hole and he takes a long vacation on the King's shilling... Brian pulled a face, “Basically he’s a nasty piece of work with a mouth on him but has no follow through.” “And a nasty obsession with queers, one guy said that Jasper wanted to ‘catch Toby out’ whatever that means.” So, according to the following, dressing for success applies in many situations....Had I known that in my younger days a certain sartorial splendor would make my clothes fall off, well...phew!!!! The hand reached the man’s groin as Gordon, on the other side, started unfastening Russ’ belt, an expensive hand-made leather one. Even just coming to visit them, knowing he was going to lose his clothes, Russ dressed well. Why do I think Mr. Russ may/might have a solution at hand???? -
Well done, with plenty of food for thought...

I think we both may have a point, my last on this subject... Pirate Navigation Secrets: Charting High Seas Adventures Pirate Cartography: Maps of the Golden Age Unveiled

This has been a very enjoyable read!!!
-
With the way the ocean constantly reconfigures shorelines. inlets and harbor entrances, any captain, good or bad, would keep notations of areas they would frequently sail to/towards....
-
If as I suspect the ship is somewhat typical for the day, navigation logs of places visited, and yes charts/maps, would be kept. As someone who knows numbers and more importantly, how to read, it's not such a leap to see Pet absconding with either one or both....
-
Will Desmond be kissing Ash or Ash's ass??? Say that 3 times fast....
-
Pet needs to somehow figure out what the location of the 'secret hideaway' is and use that information to affect his revenge....if he manages to escape...

Act I - From Out Of The Mist
drsawzall commented on Jack Poignet's story chapter in Act I - From Out Of The Mist
I'd roll over to let you scratch my belly for a treat like that.... Ray couldn’t smell his wolf from this distance, couldn’t touch him, but he still felt it, somehow: the heat, the tension, the unspoken “I’ve got you,” that the wolf never said out loud. He just huffed, annoyed. Maybe he could buy him a nice dog collar with blinking LED lights to thank him for the protection. He’d sure love it. What's the problem Ray, you've been trying nearly everything to get off in the past 24 hours...wonder what happens if you should accidently touch or sit on the throne???? -
Act I - Live And Let Die
drsawzall commented on Jack Poignet's story chapter in Act I - Live And Let Die
Ray is more than the sum of his parts... “Kid … come here! There’s nothing you can do.” "He's fine," Ray whispered, his voice thin. "Weak... but fine." Brynjar's voice was low and heavy with warning. “Stop it! Vampires don’t have pulses." Ray blinked down at the unconscious man. "But... he does. He’s breathing," he insisted. "Slow, but... steady." Has he gone and created some sort of kinky bond, the bad boy??? -
The First Overnight Together, Plus

Staying the night could have been, not only letting off some pressure, bit very relieving... -
Will Josel, Zdain, Darren, and Bartos, meet up with Franz at some point? Would it be possible that they all become the next generation of warriors against the darkness, much like Zal and his compatriots???

DOH!!!!! “When Mr. Johnson was replaced by Mr. Durham, we tried. We asked them to meet somewhere else.” Quite suddenly, Mrs. Stevenson's bitter anger turned to fear and seemed to transform her into a very different woman. A woman scared for her family and her business. “Mr. Durham threatened us. Quite openly and directly. He's a mage, you know.” “The police can protect you from mages, too, Mrs. Stevenson,” Vee said sternly. “I'm interested in the man because he's most likely using a stolen identity.” -
I think the three visitors are intent on hearing those wedding bell blues... Yikes...let's hope reason prevails and cabins are built for the tribe!

Chapter 6 Curtain Up - FIN
drsawzall commented on RedMoon's story chapter in Chapter 6 Curtain Up - FIN
And so much for Emperor Piqsirpoq's desire for erasing the various 'social' barriers between the factions... "It seems that mutt didn't train you well enough," came the emperor's voice, heavy pressure crashing in from all sides, compressing my consciousness, making it hard to breathe. I felt like I'd been punched in the gut, forced down onto my knees. "Teaching mediocrity begets mediocrity, after all." I mustered all my strength, pushing back with my consciousness, unable to stand but determined not to fall further. The blood closest to me began to boil, sizzling and bubbling. "That useless mutt couldn't even fulfill the empire's most basic request." The emperor's furious eyes glowed red as he spat out his words. "The empire asked for just one heir to inherit his power, just one!" He emphasized each word with wild gestures, shards of stone floating into the air, spinning as our domains clashed. With a flick of his paw, a sharp whistle cut through the air. Fortunately, I was ready. Several metal fragments slammed into my defense circle, flattening under the force. "And instead, he produced a crippled little bastard?" The emperor's fur bristled, his form swelling to nearly double its size. "I've been lenient, ignoring his 'deformities,' yet he couldn't even meet that one basic demand?" His tone was as bitter as if he'd swallowed something foul. -
Chapter 5 The Pale Blue Dot
drsawzall commented on RedMoon's story chapter in Chapter 5 The Pale Blue Dot
Interesting to say the least, much to unpack and think about in this chapter....the following is/was very intriguing... "To manage the scope of memory compression if needed..." Richter looked down at the floor, resting his elbows on his knees, his tail and ears drooping without movement. "I can only tell you that it's an intelligence far beyond our understanding. We're currently confined within the Sol, and the Phantom are the gatekeepers." His tone became somewhat detached. "The only condition for lifting the blockade is passing the trial." He looked up at the airlock's observation window. "But the rules aren't ours to set, and we don't even know what the trial entails." -
Such a sublime chapter, and now to await some 'interesting' developments!!!

I had a feeling and commented several chapters ago I thought the treasure might/may have been CSA treasure. I am looking forward to seeing what types of coins are found...
