During my 4 years of high school, we were exposed to some of the world's greatest literature and plays. From The Merchant of Venice, Chaucer, The Crucible, and Moby Dick, to name a few. I was also involved in our local and school theater clubs, where we put on plays such as A Midsummer Night's Dream, Twelve Angry Men, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Inherit the Wind. Musicals such as Bye Bye Birdie, The Fantastics. Both on the stage and backstage as well. In one play, Ah, Wilderness, my role of young Richard had two and a half pages of uninterrupted dialogue. St Patrick's Day is coming up soon. In my part of the world, it is also Evacuation Day, when the British were forced from Boston, thanks to Henry Knox. It is local to Boston and a few surrounding communities, and an excuse to drink green beer, avoid as much as possible those wearing Kiss Me I'm Irish paraphernalia among the parade goers. Not forgetting corned beef and cabbage, and suffering the byproduct fumes hours later. Changing the clocks is an honored family tradition going back eons. Every five years, it was my family's turn to participate. I used to think it was stupid to get all dressed up like Druids till I got to drive the Land Rover...

The Hospice of the Blessed Maiden
drsawzall commented on Yeoldebard's story chapter in The Hospice of the Blessed Maiden
Is Arlo a bit out of the loop, and why did the deer spare him?. Arlo headed into the back of the hospice, easily finding the lift Rusne spoke of. He was starting to feel out of the loop on things — how had Rusne and the Deer found so much information he’d missed? He was losing his touch. Sure, groups were designed so people could cover each others’ backs, but Arlo couldn’t stop the feeling that he was letting everyone down by not figuring this stuff out himself. -
Puzzles within puzzles…the incident with the four men that precipitated all of this is curious. Where were these four men slain? Were they killed on the human side of the fog, if so, what proof exists pointing to Karsa, the Warden of the Woods? Is it possible that other forces on the human side instigated this breach of the treaty for ill intent? Something else is behind Confessor Sneth, could he be manufacturing this crisis and measly covering his responsibility for the deaths of an additional five hundred men?

Chapter Eighteen - Bad Things Happen.
drsawzall commented on William King's story chapter in Chapter Eighteen - Bad Things Happen.
Thank you for sharing this! -
We all handle loss and grief differently and it is never easy. While it is easy to remind oneself, that you both would want to have each other to move on, in so many ways it is wishful thinking. Time and distance help but the empty spot is always there…

Cruising Shadows and Quiet Confessions
drsawzall commented on Tony S.'s story chapter in Cruising Shadows and Quiet Confessions
We've seemed to have reached a low point in this story, with a couple of bright lights waiting for Kitt to see them. I know it must be very difficult to open just the slightest and let someone partially in, as Kitt will slowly complete his descent to the bottom, if he can't find help ot accept the help he needs. Kitt, most likely, will head back to that part of the park, placing himself in danger, and it scares me. Having decades of experience, I sometimes forget what I was like when I went through my later teenage years. The devastating loss of all that you knew and held close. I hope against all odds that Harbor is the one that finally gets Kitt to let someone in and accept that help. I'm worried about Matt. Someone needs to set him down and let him decompress; perhaps recalling the good times with Kitt, a memory of Riverbend might trigger a thought or two. My wish is for these two boys to connect, and soon!!! -
Maybe if I go as a pretend Guncle on my next flight i may find myself a Rob....
