    Chapter 5

Depends on what faith one proscribes to, and listening to the haranguing that all other faiths are false. And to think…they are all sons/children of Abraham….
  6. This slow dance is a delight to behold…there is much quietly said in the following….an unspoken acceptance indicated… Yes, well, I must credit Oliver with that. He has become quite fixated on lemons. He asks for little, so when he spoke to me at length of how refined and fastidious they are, how fashionable and versatile, and such handsome trees besides which would look well in the front garden, I indulged him.” ************ “Yes. It is merely a cake.” For reasons unknown to me, this amused him. I wished to ask why but would not gratify his mischief by doing so. Instead I reached for his empty plate and the knife. He watched, drawn back to the moment. I cut another slice and returned the plate to him without a word. He struck me as looking quite starved. “Indulge.”
  7. My goodness, my psychotic , power of prediction was spot on…I’m off to buy a lottery ticket and a scratch card… I have to think once exams are over, Harry will find himself at the sheep farm… And once the dust settles, I imagine that a serious, intensive discussion will need to take place as to the future of the farm. If it is to sell, one hopes Aled shares in the result of the sale. I can’t see how the two brothers can keep the farm going, it will be months, if not years before Iwan can work the farm. it would be a real kick in the pants if Harry and Aled were no longer a couple…a throuple possibly…
  8. It must have been difficult during that time knowing that there were so many eyes out there looking for trouble, and from both sides of this conflict… Ximo was certainly fast on his feet, but worried that gossip may follow…

  11. I don’t trust the young man they met in the bar…seems suspiciously convenient….that and he spit on the plate, eeewwww… Sam does have another path to follow if he so wishes…or take a better look at Isaac…. My great-uncle has renounced the throne after ten years of unsuccessful bridal search. Since his brother, my grandfather, was already married and father, he got around this nice adventure," Sam said with a sigh.

    Chapter 4

Here’s hoping that Erik can figure out how to hide their tracks. If the crusaders have a brain amongst them, he may point out to find the nearest watering hole… While the Bedouin are scattered, they aren’t helpless, and perhaps they start a campaign of attrition… I can’t imagine they won’t defend themselves… Séb slid one hand from Erik’s shoulder up to his neck, his thumb resting over the rapid, frantic pulse at the base of Erik’s throat. "Feel that," Séb whispered. "You are alive. You are here. You are Erik. And you are with me. The past is ash, let it blow away. We only need tomorrow It’s gonna be a hot time under the dung blanket, anyone want to lay odds as to who bleats first?
  21. Why do I get the feeling the letters will be found? It would seem to me the spark that lights the fuse... While Gran is leaving Barnswallow to August, I wonder if Albert, when he finds out about it, tries to horn in, saying August isn't of age.... Quite frankly, August needs to hightail out of there ASAP, not only does he get the ninety acres, but enough of a stake to see him through several years while he brings the farm back to life. Gran surely wanted him to have the home what held so many memories for her, saying he was old enough now, and that meant plenty to him. She even insisted if he accepted she would stake him enough to get him through those first years. Though he had no plans to accept her financial generosity, the offer for it showed how much she loved him, and that was something he didn’t ever feel in the house he lived in, not for the past ten lonely years. August needs to understand that no one else is going to inherit Gran's money, take the frigging stake. It would be poetic justice if, through some unforeseen set of circumstances, neither Rob nor Albert were able to manage the homestead, death, dismemberment, rattlesnake bite, trampled under stampeding cows, or thrown off a horse. Personally, I'd be fine with any of the scenarios...or all of them... I was the third child, the one ignored, while my brother could do no wrong, and the same with my sister. I was invisible till something went wrong, or somebody needed someone to step-and-fetchit...and this went on for years. I did year-round yard work while in high school, earning money for my own clothes and a new 10-speed bike. I moved out after graduation and on to college. Soon after my brother was lost in a hazy world of drugs, my sister married a smarter-than-anyone loser and moved nearly all across the country. When my folks could no longer care for or provide for themselves, guess who stepped in...I don't begrudge the time spent; it made me a better person. As they say in the show Gunsmoke, August...get the hell out of Dodge!!!
  22. One of these days I will have the time to get to more of these stories.

    Telling Mum

As a gentleman of a “certain “ age, all I can say is ouch!!! Frankly, she makes Mother seem advanced and adventurous. I think Anne is still in the 1950s.” “Was she even born then?” I smiled. “Not a bit. She’s younger than Mother.”
  24. Well, you had me with the Mossberg 500 😁
