Fairy tales and ancient myths collide in a wonderful three-part smash up. I'm reminded in part of a segment that appeared in the old Rocky and Bullwinkle called "Fractured fairy Tales." Think you remember those lessons or know your mythology...think again!!!

Will Tyler have the cojones to grow up and realize Dwight is a loser? I would love to have someone to share my passion with. That’s why I’d like to be friends with him, I rationalize. Not that I can. The boys would never stop the teasing - me hanging out with a loser. I don’t even want to think what would happen if they started suspecting something more.

James, an entitled stuck-up idiot who just happens to think the world revolves around him, wonder just how long it will take to pull his head out of his ass... “I said I was sorry!” I shouted. “Why won’t you say anything to me? You haven’t said more than a dozen words in the past three days.” “Just leave me alone,” he replied. “I never asked anything from you.” “Why do you hate me so much?” It was my turn to be hurt. “I’m just trying to be nice.” He looked at me and our eyes met. “Who said I hate you?” He turned and hurried away.

I hope we have seen the last of Peter's father, if not...he should have an 'accident'!! This story just keeps getting better and better and the following nearly broke my heart... “Dad, why do you call the new orphanage Uncle’s?” ‘“That’s the name, Uncle’s House.” “Why?” “Iif a friend of yours is asked where does he live, he use to say the orphanage, now he can say he stays at Uncle’s House.” Richie caught on fast. In French he explained it to the boys. The faces on our boys as they understood the significance was something I hope never to see again. The realization that being from an orphanage was thought to be something bad was new to them. “Dad” “It’s okay Tommy. They are ignorant, I hope they never have to experience the loss of their parents.”

Well now, not for the faint of heart to say the least. An interesting beginning and do wonder the origins of the animosity betwixt the 'Shifts' and 'Messiah's'. Is she alone among the fellow members of her community, are there others who may harbor similar feelings?

More questions than answers, it would seem the setting for the story coincides with the mood of the protagonists...

A bit late to the party on this tale, looking forward to seeing where it goes,. It would seem that we have a case of PTSD colliding with a nearly 17 year old teen with surging hormones. I may have missed it but how old is Ed? I'd be depressed as well if my apartment was anything like this...
