You don't forget, you keep looking, hoping, praying ... a young local Amish woman, just 18, dissapeared on her way home from church services earlier this summer. The authorities have arrested and charged a young man and he will go on trial later this year. Some of the clothes she was wearing have been found buried behind a local business but there has been no sign of her. People are still looking ... most are certain he killed her and hid her body somewhere ... but until the find her they'll go on hoping, praying.

The PA Dutch have a saying ... " Too soon we grow old, too late we grow smart." We've got the old part now it's time to grow smart bro and not overdo things. I know you want him home with you and want his space ready and welcoming but how do you think he'd feel if you end up hurting yourself? You know he'll feel guilty for putting you out 'cause that's how you raised him. Consider that too while you prep his space.

Oh how fortuitous ... it turned out to be a berry good day for you. If it was left to me I would freeze those berries and make jam later this winter. Nothing like bringing the rich scent of late summer into the house when it cold and dreary outdoors.

I had my main meal at midday. I made baked macaroni and cheese. I don't know which cheese varieties were in it because I back last fall I had remnants of several different cheeses in the refrigerator when it was time to head to Mum's. I tossed them all into the Cuisinart and chopped them up together before putting the mix into the freezer for later use. It has been a cool damp miserable day, my head hurts so I was in need of comfort food hence the mac 'n cheese. It was very good. I topped it with some medium hot salsa when I dished it up. There are enough leftovers to provide two more servings. Those have been portioned out to go into the freezer.

G'day y'all. Tis a cool damp overcast morning with a bit of breeze. Some rain overnight with more showers in the forecast. Took Thistle for a shortened walk this morning, only 2 miles instead of four, before heading to market for a few things. My head aches today. Likely due to a combination of changeable weather and the fact I'm coming up on when the next series of injections is due. Anyway having a bit of laydown. Blessed be.

I had a large salad of romaine lettuce with bits of rare roast beef and crispy onions with a summer tomato dressing.

I very much like orange chicken or beef. My first introduction was 30+ years ago. A local place made tangerine beef. Only place I've ever encountered it and it was wonderful. Sadly they closed in the late 1990's.

Thought it must because the melon contains so much water. Mum and I typically make jam using equals amounts of fruit and sugar and cooking it until it thickens. This sounds good.
