King does actually quite well with blending paranormal with real life. A lot of his short stories involve normal people dealing with abnormal situations. That one of the things I love most about his writing.

I use Dropbox as well, but I will also email stuff to myself constantly. I found two of my old NaNoWriMo novels that way.

Another fantastic article as always! I found this part extremely interesting: So unless my house burns down to the ground, I don't have to worry about something like... Because fires do happen. It happened to me. Luckily, I was able to retrieve my laptop and while the machine was fried, I took it to a computer store and the sweet employees there managed to recover the hard drive and install it on my new laptop. But I also I had a lot of my really old writing in an external hard drive and on floppy disks (yes, I am THAT old) that I would never be able to recover. And quite frankly, I'm not gonna try to. It was mostly bad Hanson fanfiction anyway. But it hurt, I'm not even gonna lie. It's one of the things that I lost that I miss the most.

I think that as long as the world has rules, and the story follows them, I will read just about anything, no matter how crazy.

I'm not huge on settings with my stories, so I usually don't base a story around a certain location. If I did, I would want to at least visit it or talk to someone familiar with the area, depending on how in depth I would be going. I do recall reading about a romance author that was using our campus for one of her novels when I was in college. She was looking for "good make out spots". I remember finding it very funny.

I think taking Galen to NYC was a bad call. If he can't handle being alone in a room with the doctor, then taking him to a city packed with people isn't a good idea, and Josh isn't equipped to deal with the effects it might have on Galen. I'm worried that this will set him back in his healing, I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Things seem to slowly be looking up for Galen, though I get the feeling his road to recovery will be a long one. Good chapter and interesting to see things from Alannah's perspective.

Well, I'm glad that Galen is finding a little bit of comfort, even if it is from his horse. Having Galen not eating really struck a chord with me. I did the same after I lost my apartment in a fire. I just lost more and more weight until I hit double digits. My parents put their foot down and made me see a nutritionist. Hopefully this doctor can help Galen out.

I love Stalking Darkness. I think it is the best in the series.

Are you referring to Doctor Sleep? It's okay. Not bad by any means, but it's hard to write a follow up to something as cool as The Shining That being said, On Writing is great. Whenever people ask about a good book on writing, this is always the first one that comes to my head.
