  1. Pffft, Taylor Hanson? I'll take Isaac over him any day of the week. Better sense of humor.
  2. I also tend to write what I like. I can't imagine writing something that I am not interested in, although I am open to trying new genres every once and a while. I started out writing paranormal/fantasy stories, but as time goes on, I find myself shifting more into romance. As much as I loved writing stories like Statuary and NTS, I also like writing people falling in love. I'm a sap!

    Taking Action

    Very powerful.
  4. I'm speaking as more of a writer than a reader, but I am very attached to my teenage characters. I will occasionally write about older teenagers, and I have one or two stories that focus on adult characters, but for some reason, I just like to write about teenagers. I think they are a lot of fun, they are in this wonderful transition from children into adults, but are both of them and neither of them all at once, and I think that is just a fascinating age and perspective to write from. (Also one of my teenage characters was SUCH a BRAT and that was just ridiculously fun to write, I'm not even going to lie).

    Chapter 1

I came into this story expecting to be scared, but instead I was touched, and a little sad, by this tragic tale. I abhor violence of any kind and cannot imagine how horrible it must have been for Ollie to witness such a hateful, vicious attack on two innocent men, who just wanted to love each other. Heart-wrenching! Well done.

    Chapter 1

Eesh, what a mess. Lots of emotions in this piece, I hope the two guys can come to some sort of understanding. I don't know if relationships can survive infidelity, but it sounds like there are things between Camilo and Desean that need to be put to rest before either of them can move on.

    Chapter 1

Oh man, poor Devin. Maybe he shouldn't tell Jonah about this one. I was a little disappointed that Devin's infatuation was nothing more than a drug pusher, although it probably makes more sense than whatever ideas Devin was coming up with, lol.

    Chapter 1

    This was cute!

    Chapter 1

Wow. Um...wow. Well, kudos to the person who wrote this, unhinged Jody sure scared the hell out of me. Reading from his POV during the first part of this story was quite disturbing. I like how he turned around later on, but Tommy is a braver person that me. I'm not sure if I could bring myself to date a person who was clearly planning on killing their ex. Creepy. I liked it!

    Chapter 1

Cairo and Diego are adorable. I think Nicole and my mom would get along fabulously, they both love pulling pranks. Halloween and birthdays were my mom's favorite. I hated them at the time (I was her primary target) but they are funny to look back at now!

    Chapter 1

Poor Denny, he should be allowed to go trick or treating! He only has a few more years to be able do that. (Coming from someone who trick or treated all the way through high school).

    Chapter 1

Kudos to the open-minded Sheriff! I get the feeling that if Christopher hadn't been a kid itself when the abductions started, he would have been a suspect for sure. It makes it a bit easier to see where his mother was coming from with her anti-Halloween stance as well. I wouldn't have wanted my kids to be taken by that horrible man! Entertaining story!

    Chapter 1

Hey, if Dom really doesn't want Gabe, I'll take him, lol. Crows are fascinating creatures, but I don't know if I would want one hanging around me all the time. That constant cawing would get on my nerves!
  14. 11 reasons to procrastinate! Awesome!

    Chapter 1

Calavera Diego leaned in closer to the mirror, critically inspecting his reflection as he finished the last touches of his Halloween costume. He turned back around. "Who else are we waiting for?" His best friend Parker was reading a magazine. "Just Milo." He glanced up at Diego. "What the hell are you supposed to be? A skeleton?" "A sugar skull," Diego corrected, although he had taken pains to use white and black makeup to look more skeletal and less decorative. "For
  16. The last thing wanted Diego wanted to do was go to his ex-girlfriend's Halloween party, or get involved with another one of her ridiculous Halloween pranks. But his mood changed when he met a handsome stranger with a mysterious past and a beautiful smile.
  17. I started off with fanfiction when I first started writing. It was a love story featuring me, my best friend, and the Hanson brothers, lol. Hell, I still write it sometimes. It's fun to tinker with someone else's toys every once and a while.
  18. When I start writing, I usually have a good idea of what I'm going to write about and where I want the story to go, and just go from there. I sometimes need outlines for larger, more complex works, but I hate using them. If I know every single detail of the story before I write it, it loses the fun for me, and I get bored. Part of what I enjoy when writing is seeing what the characters decide to do.
  19. I think head-hopping is fine when it is done well. I was told I was head-hopping in one story, and it was true. I had written the entire story from the point of view of the main character, and then one little thought from a secondary characters snuck it's way in there. But when I wrote NTS I wrote from both of my main characters POV and that seemed fine. I have also read a book by a very popular best selling author that took it too far. Every chapter was only a couple of pages long and every single one was told from a different POV, and sometimes, they didn't even add anything to the story. It was maddening, and I didn't finish the book (I was so incensed that I spent money on it that I hurled it across the room and left a dent in my wall).
  20. Awesome!! So much congrats!!
  21. It's not a stupid quote. I like it.
  22. Unless it is me, then it is a pretty sure bet I am lost. I get lost a lot.
  23. Great advice. As someone who has had their work plagiarized before, I often check Google like this post recommends.
  24. Chiming in as another reader who loved the Babysitter's Club. I also liked all of the Sweet Valley High books (yes, I'm that old). I also loved the Fear Street books by RL Stine and Christopher Pike. But I would read anything I could get my hands on. I remember my parents getting into a fight over my reading choices. My Dad thought that I was too advanced to be reading stuff like the Babysitter's Club, but my Mom was worried about my reading "horror" books (Stine and Pike). I ended up reading both.
  25. OMG, that's adorable. Thanks for sharing!
