  1. Thanks Gary.
  2. You really do have it out for Erik, eh? So much for learning the guitar, at least short term... I was hoping we'd get more details about what happened in New York, but I guess you bare saving that for later.

    Final Chapter

Someone asked me for author recommendations and I mentioned you and decided to take a stumble over to your stories page... and remembered this one that I loved. I guess I read it back before I was leaving reviews and really participating on here. Just wanted to leave a note saying thanks for writing this, and looking forward to more from you as you find time to work on things.
  4. Okay, so I couldn't wait until morning to read. Great chapter! I loved the way you played with tension and inserted little victories for the boys at intervals. The passive-aggressive visit was a great move, and that parting shot at the grandparents! Wow! I guess now we know a bit more about why Isa could fall in love with a douchebag like Henry - his behaviours were like Isa's parents'. Can't wait for more (but write at your leisure)!
  5. Yeah, his thoughts were definitely a mixed bag but overall moving in the right direction. It's important to recognize the things you pointed out. We're piecing together more of who the man St. John is now, both his present and the past that has shaped him. Let's hope he can keep his perspective strong and resilient, because we're starting to approach the holiday season and we all know that time of year brings up all sorts of emotions.
  6. November 21, 2021 I am having one of those days where I’ve almost given up all hope that I’ll be able to do any substantial writing without going crazy. A journalistic opinion piece here and there has been okay, but anything more substantial than that has become too much to juggle. I’m not willing to sacrifice my personal and social time, not too much of it. I need it. I know it’s helping to keep me sane, because I feel so much better right now than I ever did o

    Taking Root

Nice chapter, with some relief about Shawn and Chuck moving forward with his plan. Every little intimate moment with Chuck and Don is hard because we know what's coming, or at least what the two of them plan to have happen. I love that Tommy inherited the Nikon. It's too bad he and Chuck didn't realize the shared passion sooner so they could have fun talking shop. So David met Andy... as in A to Z Andy, yes? A nice nod too Parker, and it made me smile. Now Don is off to visit David and Twoey. He's becoming a little force of nature, isn't he? Well, trying, perhaps. He's come a long way from his younger self but at the same time he'said always went for what he wants, eh? I still remember him purposefully pissing off David just to get his attention since other subtle methods weren't working...

    Epilogue

Awwww..... Thanks for the story, Lit. it's been a pleasure to read, and for these two to get the happy ending they deserve.
  9. An odd little piano suite by Leonid Polovinkin (1894-1949).
  10. Raw and real. It's one of those times where it's hard to say job well done because the words of said job hurt so much. I've had to deal with a number of 'choices' that I didn't want to have to make over the past, and it takes a lot of time and resilience for the faith to be restored. It's hard enough to keep in touch with the friends who don't put you in bad spots or stick you with needles you never knew they had in their handbag as it is...
  11. Uh... I know I haven't read your other story with Geoff, but that was not the extreme of action I expected at all. It's good that Erik is getting some help, even though it's going to be a long road through hell for him, and we have Jamie joining the fold too... I'm glad Jerry is okay, and interested to see what will come of the dynamic with Gerry. Hmm... I guess maybe with Geoff's cavalier attitude around sexual relationships didn't clue me in to the fact that he would feel the same way about drugs (and spending mind-numbing amounts of money on a possible assassination). The WWW story always kept me on my toes with the behaviours of your characters, and it's definitely carrying over into this tale. Oh my.
  12. Alban Berg's Violin Concerto.
  13. I find it fascinating that the arrival of general internet access coincides with a diversification of names - no 10-20 names completely dominate the field by the late 2000's.
  14. I'm a little late to the response game, but welcome back. Let those creative juices flow!
  15. Oddly enough, I was just thinking about this story the other day. I guess we have much reason to be suspicious of Aphrodite now. a ? .

    Chapter 51

You've definitely captured the mood of these sorts of days. If it were earlier in the day, I'd probably write something more verbose, but it's not flowing right now. November kind of does that to a person. Well, a person like me, anyway. As for the second... we feel pain for what we lose, and for what we fear we may lose, and for what we fear our loves may lose. But the greatest thing of all is that the pain is surrounded by time and memories that are the most valuable thing we can cherish despite worldly impermanence. A soul's touch at a distance, a hand and a hug.

    Chapter 29

Oh thank God that mess only took one chapter to sort out! Jason's a lawyer - he should litigate! I am glad Corey was able to calm himself down although to recollect what he did actually see, and that he had the strength to give everyone Jason the benefit of the doubt right away. His timing waso not quite as horrible as we thought, thank goodness. More things to throw in the therapy bucket, for sure. Looking forward to what comes along next... perhaps some (happy ish?) resolution with Liam?

    Chapter 26

B.b.b.b.but what IS that information?!? Cool chapter. I like how it flows like a train of thought. It definitely captures the investigative spirit of the moment. Just a couple things... you refer to the doctor as having telescopes in his basement, but I am pretty certain you meant microscopes. Just after that, petri dish was typo'd as peachy dish- something they very much weren't. Can't wait for next week!
  19. Wow. Well, I guess there really is a mental illness problem here... or some really deep-seated troubles in Zane's father. It came as a surprise that things would escalate to that extremity. There are major consequences here, ranging from two attempted murder charges to divorce and and divestment from his family and even his job. This is a mindfuck that it will take a lot of work for Zane to deal with. As much as he's hated his father, this ultimate betrayal is so beyond comprehension. It's a wonder that Zane wasn't in worse shock - he and Clint both.

    Chapter 1

    Loved it.
  21. What Parker said! This was a wonderful chapter. I had this moment with a small pit of fear on my gut that Warren will betray them to Reznik Jr, but I think my fear is alayed for now. Looking forward to some glimpses of Adel in and Warren's relationship developing... and Warren's redemption.
  22. He's definitely been on a journey and come far from those dark days in the summer. I think he's starting to be able to see it, and hopefully that will begin to colour his outlook more. I'm really interested to see how you feel about things if we ever meet Dom in person, and don't just have John talking about things very patchily about the past. Thanks for reading, Gary!

    Vidar

So hot. Whether a dream or not, people should be allowed their liberation as long as all parties (and parties connected but not involved) are consenting. I've been missing Joel and Lucas every time I see updates and new reviews pop up for their stories, so this was a welcome (and awesome!) little present. Made my afternoon brighter.
  24. Poor Erik... I really hope he isn't going to go blind, and this is just a minor retinal detachment fixable with surgery. And Tristan is back in the picture, joy of joys. Was this just a one-off? It will be interesting to see what dynamics end up happening once Jamie re-enters the Warnton picture.
