  1. Of course nothing at all is preferable, but there's something very exciting about a nice speedo tan line framing out the round globes of a man's bottom... /sigh
  2. Shameless is fine. Although I'm not a fan of the animal print, the body and tats more than make up for it.
  3. I actually really hate boardshorts for the most part. While enjoying the sun and swimming, I never saw the need to be covered up so much. Speedos were more popular for a while, but now the current style covers more flesh than most guys fathers and grandfathers ever wore. It's true that some people look better in one than the other, but that follows with every type of clothing ever made. However, someone is buying them... they're in every men's clothing magazine. But as far as when I'm ogling... The more minimal amount of fabric of a well fitting speedo is enough to keep my imagination involved. Go Speedos!!
  4. It's not a problem in the least. If one person has an issue with a story, there's always a chance that there's someone else as well who hasn't spoken up. I'd rather get it in the open and make any necessary fixes I can
  5. Kenrick told Shawn about his search for artifacts during their exchange near the end of Ch. 20 when he found Shawn drinking his expensive liquor and revealed his non-human nature. Serial stories always run the risk of details being missed or forgotten in the gap between sessions. Feel free to re-read as often as you need!
  6. Ch. 22 is up! Will Shawn be found before something goes horribly wrong? https://www.gayauthors.org/story/mann-ramblings/solittlemagicleft/22
  7. Happy Anniversary Mark!!!
  8. Go Proms! We're gaining! Actually a nice batch of content all around. Nice work to all the groups
  9. Happy Birthday!
  10. One way to work around not having a working knowledge of a subject it to pair up with a beta reader who is familiar. A beta reader with that kind of knowledge can help undo the "that would never happen" moments that can plague a story. It's still more difficult to write those kind of subjects, but you have a proper chance to do it justice by combining that with the additional research an author should do under those circumstances. There is a thread pinned in the Writer's Corner forums titled "Skills Research and Assistance" giving a list of people who have volunteered to help authors over various subjects to help with just such a circumstance.
  11. I was reading on Nifty and came across Rob Colton's Timber Pack Chronicles when it was first posting. From his chapter headers I found the url for Literotica and so many other authors. I read a bunch of Cia's work and found her link to GA. While reading stories, I got the urge to write Little Man and another online author encouraged me to post on GA as a better place for starting authors. I joined and decided to stick around. Who knew?
  12. Did Joann write another prompt? It sounds like something in one of Joann's prompts...
  13. I think that's an excellent suggestion. We'll trick them with promises of candy...
  14. I get that sometimes too. I know they're out there... sneaky readers...
  15. Fleeting Rainbows and Valkyrie both had bittersweet takes on 303. Very nicely done. Now I need to find the time to read through the other prompt. Go go gadget time-machine!!!
  16. Congrats, Rob! Now get on that Timber Pack sequel!
  17. LMAO!!! "Considerable Pumping Required" You are so going to hell for posting that. LOL
  18. Oh I never said I'd be so gracious face to face...
  19. I think in some ways that effective comedy is infinitely harder to do well because there are so many potential nuances. Most of us can pull off a scene here and there, but an entire story or novel takes some serious skill to do well. Authors who do it have my sincere admiration.
  20. This article is pretty fascinating to see the different viewpoints. Every author that receives rave reviews has been verbally beaten or stabbed in some fashion, justified or not. It also helps to see that all of us have our ups and downs when it comes to criticism and some take harder blows than others. I'm still fairly new to this, so I'm sure I will have other comments that are better and worse down the line; it's the nature of the game, so to speak. Thank god GA is a more forgiving place to start out than other sites. Even so, we continue to do what we do, hopefully a little wiser and maybe a little thicker skinned. (Maybe.)
  21. When the spring come around and even in the summer it's a much different situation. You can crash your car looking around if you're not careful.
  22. As bundled up in layers of clothing and coats as they are right now? No.
  23. I was told by a woman today that my town was rated #6 in the highest amount of snowfall in the U.S. this year. I don't like my town very much right now.
