I think in the gay community, sibling incest has it's naughty curiosity. If you look hard enough (or maybe not with so much difficulty), twin porn is out there to watch as well as brothers starring in films together to capitalize on the taboo factor. I think it's a subject that many are unable to shake because it seems so foreign. But isn't that what titillates? Finding an attraction to something that society says no to? Look at how many men like the "barely legal" sites out there. That creeps me out way worse than whether two brothers start indulging. From a story standpoint, I think it's a subject worth exploring as long as it's handled properly.

Epilogues and New Beginnings
Mann Ramblings commented on Mann Ramblings's story chapter in Epilogues and New Beginnings
Thank you so much for reading! I really appreciate your insights and am glad to see the story wasn't a big exercise in expected plot lines. If I were to rewrite this I would likely expand it further assuming my existing projects gave me the time. Thanks again -
Writing Tip: Flashbacks, Friend Or Foe?
Mann Ramblings commented on Trebs's blog entry in Writing World
I have no problem with using flashbacks. Their success or failure is completely in how the author used them in relation to the story. I've read many where the flashback was disjointed and removed the reader from the plotline in a disruptive fashion. I've seen others where the transition smoothly went from the current story into the flashback and back again with no disruption whatsoever. And returning back exactly where you started from? Why? I don't see any need to follow a rigid timeline if that's not how your story is constructed. Write what you want. Doing it successfully, like any artform, is part of the craft. Rules are made to be bent or even broken if you do them right. -
Member Ranks and Reputation Levels- strategy and tactics
Mann Ramblings replied to JamesSavik's topic in The Lounge
I vote to not include this one in the rep ranking titles. -
A dislike button might also curtail authors who might submit a story or chapter that didn't have popular themes. You'd be less likely to push boundaries if you were spanked anonymously for doing so. One of the things I like about GA is its general nature of encouargment. I personally would like to maintain that. The "unlike" option is there is anyone feels the need. In general, I like the titles as a sort of badge of honor. Are they important? No. But they are one of the minimal ways of seeing our progress. The vast majority of readers don't review. You can't force it, but the like buttons are an acknowledgement we might not otherwise have from those who don't have the time or inclination to give us more feedback.

With the weather cooling off we're getting into comfort food mode. I'm seeing a seafood gumbo about to happen very very soon.

I will allow if only if they treat him as "Robin the Boy Target."

This was very cute. I like that you took the side of hope being at the bottom of Pandora's box instead of focus on all the evils of the world that can't be contained. Nice work to use the part that most of us forget about. This was very sweet and completely a situation that most of us can identify with. Very nice.

Will wait for Anthology to settle before launching new story
Mann Ramblings commented on W_L's blog entry in Life is worth an entry
If this structure is what you want and you can maintain it, then by all means go ahead. That's a lot of content per week, so make sure your beta and editor can keep up with it at the same time. As long as everyone agrees and is on board with your project, how could it be wrong? Good luck! -
Epilogues and New Beginnings
Mann Ramblings commented on Mann Ramblings's story chapter in Epilogues and New Beginnings
Thanks for reading and reviewing, Ron. I really appreciate how thorough and well thought out your comments are. There was a lot of anxiety over sharing this when I started so reviews like yours are always worthwhile. I can understand your opinion over the scene with Eric and Clay and the armchair. It was a decision made between myself and my beta as a way of balancing things between all three men's experiences and I chose that method because it's not unusual for a couple jocks to get pissed, fight it out and everything defuses. That was the thought process anyways. Whether it was successful, ultimately, is up to the reader. I know a lot of readers would have liked the story to continue. That is an unbelievably flattering thing to hear. Certainly, I could spend time making a sequel and who knows, down the line I might still, but this is the story I wanted to tell and I'm very happy with it. I'm so thrilled that so many people have read and enjoyed my efforts. It's why I keep doing it. Thanks for your review. -
This was the very first M/M fiction I wrote, Ron. I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to like and review! PM me if you have any questions too.

Ron - There is a forum for each of the prompts in the writing workshops sections. You can post it there to skip moderation for the sake of the quickie project like this. A number of authors have made a special story to host all of our prompt responses in one place where each one is a special chapter with a link in the forum or here to connect. But it's not required to participate. Enjoy the prompts. They are a great way to let your imagination run!
