Another of my favorite chapters, sorry about not leaving a review before this. Greg is an asshole, but we always knew that. I can understand his frustration at being denied his chance to swim, and he may be correct that some people would kick him out for being gay. However, I'm thinking part of the reason is he's somewhat of a sexual thrill seeker, liking to persuade guys to have sex in the showers. Nothing wrong with seducing if it's consensual, but he should have realized what the consequences would be if he's caught. And the outing of other swimmers simply means he's losing all the sympathy and support he might have had from them. Stupid idiot. I can see why Tim objects to the whole church thing, but I liked how Andy confronted the priest with his question. To me it's simply another way of working through his issues, and at least the priest didn't try to sell him any crap ideas about God doing things for the best. He very clearly said God did not condone evil stuff. We all know there are a lot of bigoted churches and religions so it's fine to show the exceptions. Just like with the coach.

I simply love this chapter. It's a major turning point for Andy. And I totally understand Monica choking up at being called Mom twice.

I'll support any club who can beat the one taking the Blue Jays out of the game. Oh, and I like Bill Murray, who is a Cubs supporter. Fingers crossed for tonight.

I like this story and the plan of the masked decoys is good.

Nice to see a head of school who has the right attitude and is clever too. One wonders where Kenny learned to be a bigoted idiot, since his dad seems OK.

Well, that went well, so that's a relief. Now they have a place where they can be themselves and relax. But Nathan's parents probably won't agree to sleep-overs for a while.

Jon certainly recognizes dangerous competition when he sees it. A shame he's not as clever on the tactics which would help him deal with it: hard work and helpfulness. He's gonna feel a right idiot, when he finds out who Kip's uncle is. I assume Kip hasn't told anyone, and since his mom probably changed her name when she got married, he doesn't have a (famous) Dutch surname to give him away. If Carlos likes them, your ink stories have the best stamp of approval. But the rest of us enjoy them too, ink or no ink.

Well that was I can't find anything to rant about in this chapter.

Great review PKC: I know we've moved on the the next books, but now I want to go back and read book 5 again.

I'm glad St. John got good legal counsel - and the fact she's a fire-breathing dragon had me I knew Emma would be able to help, and it was great to see his other friends be supportive. I still feel sad about him always putting himself down, now he'll be blaming himself even more for not getting out of the relationship with Dom faster. And I wish he would get some more counseling so he can see that he's basically a nice guy who went through a lot of shit and is fighting a heroic battle to heal, and he needs to be proud of how much he's achieved already. Even though I'd love to see Vange shred Dom in court too, I hope for St. John's sake the idiot's lawyer will see the light and tell him to fucking forget it.

I agree, they should apologize officially like they did to Turing. I cried when I saw the letter of apology in the museum at Bletchley Park. But the crazy thing is the word Pardon is actually what you use to say sorry in UK, ie when you want to apologize for pushing past someone: "Pardon me?"

Well, that was a rather sad start to my weekend, but hopefully things will get better from now on. Although, with Craig's parents looming in the background, I guess there will be plenty of drama in addition to the strain this may place on Alan and Peter's relationship. At least Lisa is awake and coherent, and the nurse heard her say she wanted her brother to look after the kids.

Well, I get the feeling you're lulling us with romance and a nice parental visit (and hints of a hot night), before dropping the axe on us. There were some ominous hints, I think. The obvious one is what kind of friends will Jason meet and will they respect him being in a serious relationship ? And did Corey suggest him going out with friends as a test? But I'm actually more worried about Jason planning to put in an offer for the cottage without telling Corey. Isn't this something they should decide together? I would be pretty pissed if my SO pulled a surprise like that on me, even if he (or she) only spent their own money. But of course, if Jason is a lot richer than Corey, he might not see it that way.

Interesting. I hope they go to Europe at some point.

Ohh, somehow this got lost in the excitement of Carlos becoming a Promising Author. Hopefully, more people will get here after the weekly wrap-up. I like Mikeal for being a thinker, although he does worry too much at times. But it's not because he lets his emotions get the better of him, he simply needs time to process his feelings and fears. And I laughed so hard at this sentence. He's a bit prejudiced, eh? So he might be gay. Fabulous. Oh God, now he was even starting to sound like them.

I skimmed it as fast as possible. Please get on with the saving now. Don't wait till Monday, I can't take another chapter like this.

So where was Marty when Zac needed him? Oh, he's all for pushing this young runner out of the closet and into the arms of a guy, whose life could be ruined if he's outed. But when Zac is harassed and gay-bashed by his former friend (who Zac finally realized was a nasty piece of shit that he had been enabling for years), there is no coach to stand up for him. Well, fuck you, Marty, for being a shitty advisor. I guess Zac is about to find out what kind of people his parents and track team members are. Do they stand up for him and support him, or will they betray him and leave him to his fate? In that case I predict he'll take a completely different door, and I hope they'll all regret their horrible mistake for the rest of their lives. But let's be optimistic - perhaps his parents will tell the school exactly what they think of them letting a student bully and beat up their son and judge him without hearing his side of the situation. (Did you miss my rants? I've tried to be good and leave this story alone, but I finally caved )

Nassau is so deliciously evil, putting the angel in Kiorl's house. I predict the outcome will be epic.

No matter how many times I read this story I always want to applaud when I get to this sentence: "What part of no is beyond your comprehension?" And I always get totally about Mikeal's Dad admonishing him instead of telling his wife to back off. He may be a good father in other ways, but his inability to curb her manipulative ways and give his son the necessary support really makes me mad. But I like Adam for being patient and kind about Mikeal's inability to come out.

Congratulations, Carlos. I'll never forget reading Solcar and trying to think and cry at the same time. Of course, your Santa story had me laughing and drooling at the same time.
