ANY sex scene you write with Granger is interesting - not to mention hot. I've yet to come across one that felt boring or unnecessary to the plot. But more to the point, the intimate trysts usually have a purpose in showing us how Granger feels about a specific man. And in this case we'd know the state of their friendship from how he and Cavendish had sex that night. Plus you'd hinted at Cavendish being excited about being Granger's 'slave' - this sounds unique to me. I'd suggest a poll but I'm fairly confident most of your Bridgemont fans would support the inclusion of as many of Granger's erotic encounters you can manage to depict.

You Can Always Get What You Want
Timothy M. commented on Sasha Distan's story chapter in You Can Always Get What You Want
So far Kieran isn't as bad as you've made him out to be in the story note. He treats his conquests nicely and makes no promises, and his dogs like him. OK there's the preying on other guys' dates, but they could just say no. I'm ready to like this world-weary selfish bastard. -
The Death of a Good Dog
Timothy M. commented on Sasha Distan's story chapter in The Death of a Good Dog
Oh well at least Oli as teenager could come out knowing his parents had kept an even bigger secret from him I hope Buddy turns out to be a werewolf staying wolf either voluntarily or from being stuck. But maybe Oli would be able to sense this? If not a werewolf, I hope Buddy is a gay wolf The worst would be if he's an inverted werewolf, who's only human during the full moon. Unless Oli is able to change at will ? No matter what, it will be fun to follow the development of both past and present. The flash backs work just fine, now I'm used to them. -
I feel cheated because we didn't get an account of the end of the Cavendish confrontation: their night together after going out to present a unified front of friendship to the courts. On the other hand I'm happy my guesses after chapter 12 were not that far off.

I actually have faith in Caroline's intelligence and social skills. Therefore I think she'll concede defeat, apologize to Granger and Cavendish, and explain to Granger why she tried to get more influence and support. Hopefully she'll also have learnt not to do these things behind her husband's back and not to jeopardize her reputation again.

YES ! I love it when the straight team mates say 'fuck your bigotted last century attitude' to the coach and the school and any idiot parents out there. and Luke threathening to quit and make it public why he did, was just awesome. Bad press and the risk of being sued for discrimination is the best way to hit idiot school officials. I noticed they're back to barebacking, nice sign of the unspoken commitment

As I've said over in the Wade and Alex forum (which I think is a better place for this discussion), Wade has chosen the relationship which holds the attraction based on intellectual rather than sexual compatibility. For me this is not surprising, but I wish Wade had learnt from the situation with Brad. He took a deep and meaningful friendship to a sexual level and almost into an actual relationship and it nearly destroyed several family ties. I saw Alex as Wade's potential soul mate as a friend, and I hoped for this rather than a boyfriend. I still think Wade has let himself be confused by the almost instant bonding with Alex and the huge crush he has on him. I hope at some point further on, Wade will make the opposite choice and have Matt as his boyfriend and Alex as his friend. And I think Matt has made this future choice more likely by his restraint and good manners in accepting the situation. But if Alex turns out to be the best life partner for Wade in the long run, I'm fine with this too, and I'll enjoy following Matt's search for a man who can make him happy. As long as Wade and Matt are in a good place with each other, I'll accept your choices for them, Mark.

Are you setting Jim up to be chosen to play for the Collingwood AFL team? If Eddie (the club president) is as pro-gay as it's show here, he'd probably think it a scoop to have the first out AFL player. Wouldn't that be No matter what like Cole says it's nice to see things going well at first. I'm sure once the attention of media and people in charge drops off, the homophobes will come out of the woodwork. Then we'll see the true worth of the support of Jim's team mates. You know I did have a suspicion about Dave in the previous story, but nothing precise and it's still pretty vague and could develop in either direction. So why don't you set up another poll

Hmm you don't pull your punches do you? Two major potential conflicts or at least two possible emotional upsets depending on the development. The Neil guy was creepy, who plans to stalk a newly out guy and break up his relationship just to get a place to stay? If this is the sort of behavior which makes Neil's dad object to homos I can almost symphatize Anyway, Jim's too young to be a sugar-daddy target, and I suspect Tony will soon sort Neil out and hook him up with people who can help in a more appropiate way. Deon's dad obviously hopes his son's presence in a club who accepts gay players and appeal to the LGBT crowd for support means Deon will be ready to forgive him. I hope so too, mainly for Deon's sake.

In hind sight I guess it's logical that Wade would put a higher priority on a relationship which is based on intellectual attraction and compatibility rather than sexual attraction and physical ecstasy. In spite of the problems with Alex's background he is a surer bet for a stable relationship than Matt. But Wade will have chosen the non-dramatic soul mate who won't challenge him the way Matt could. Plus we don't know if Alex (and his family) can accept Wade's past as a sexually abused youth. But maybe one of the bonus points of being with Alex is not being reminded of Matt rescuing him. (I don't think Wade has thought about it, so it's not a conscious choice.) The interesting consequence is we get to follow Matt as a single guy, which should be hot and fun.

I have no dobt Granger can carry this off. First of all he's a level headed and forgiving person, as well as clever both intellectually and socially. And the advice of his father is perfect and welcome as other readers have pointed out. There may be gossip, but if the parties involved act as if nothing scandalous has happened, it will soon be forgotten as nothing more than servants making a molehill into a mountain. (In Denmark we'd say turn a feather into five chickens from the story by Hans Christan Andersen ). For some reason I also have trust in Cavendish being able to explain and apologize in a way to earn Granger's pardon, though their friendship may be irrevocably damaged. But at least Cavendish can redeem himself somewhat by complying with the plan of pretending all is fine.

Reading this chapter again (to get into the mood before the next chapter - oh and because it's HOT ), I suddenly noticed Treadwell saying, he left immediately after the tryst with Caroline. Now I'm wondering if Cavendish stayed and this is why he feels badly about the whole affair. Or even worse he may have refused to have sex with her and told her or let on to how he loves Granger. This may have made her very jealous, and maybe she threathened to reveal his secret (not understanding how it could damage Granger), if Cavendish didn't keep quiet about her indiscretion. Or the other way round: she may have bargained with him: her silence in return for Cavendish staying away from her husband. Although why Caroline would act so when she's accepted his liasons with men before and even berated two of his lovers for not being loyal to Granger, remains a mystery to me. I'm sure all will be disclosed in time. I enjoy the Bridgemont series, but I hate seeing Granger in emotional turmoil.

To answer your question: I was online when your story popped up in notifications. Any story of yours get read immediately. Reading it took about 10 minutes (I just read it again, carefully, and timed it). I guess I'm a fast reader. Writing a review took care of the other six minutes.

Intriguing, can't wait to read more. Not sure about the flash backs they are interesting and mostly it's clear how they tie into the story, but they do break the rhythm a bit. I think it'll work out well in the end, though. My first thought on reading the descripion was: oh you've decided to do a werewolf as opposite from Kurt as possible. But now I'm hooked on Oli for himself.

Mostly I agree with your stories being complete, when they have the tag. But this one lacks another chapter or two in order to feel finished. I'm still not sure it'll work out with Doug and I'd like to see him get over Kevin for real. So if you ever have the time and inclination, I'd love to see this story continued. It's captivating and you manage to make os like Chris, maybe because he's well aware of his own faults.

Interesting how the actions and words of Keith quickly revealed his selfcentered nature and how he was well on his way to ruining yet another relationship. Made me want to punch him. And lo and behold, Nick comes along and gets to tell him exactly what a bastard he is. Good for him - and for Rodney's sake I hope it would make a difference.

Wow I came across a story by you where the protagonists, in spite of being shy and unsure, actually manage to become boyfriends and be happy with only a tiny amount of sillyness. Awesome. Adorable.
-
Wow thanks Mark I'm going for straight and friends. But I won't mind being proved wrong.

Hmm, I'd forgotten about that, though I did hesitate before putting Frank's name in the list. Something was niggling in the back of my mind, but I thought it was just my inability to keep the Hayes men and their various experiences with guys apart. I'll have to go back and look for the Ace thing - unless you'd care to point it out? (Oh, thanks Mark for helping out.) And to nitpick back don't you mean 100% straight doesn't include them ? So Mark: you want to set up a small poll, where we vote on whether Alex is gay, straight, or bi ? And whether he'll fall for Wade / have sex with him no matter which category he fits in ? Or will Wade's arrival in Paris reveal the answer ?
-
Wade having a crush on Alex (or feelings which may develop beyond frinedship) seems likely from his behavior in the past two chapters. My idea of them being no more than friends hinged on Alex being straight. But as we've seen in earlier CAP stories, 100% straight men are not so common. Jack (Claire's husband), Frank, Ace and Darius are the only examples from the main group of character that comes to mind.

Brrr scary. But also extremely hot. I loved him with Mike , but Corbin sure is terrifying when out for revenge. Though Pete and Amanda did deserve it. Interesting she won't answer his question or hear his side of the story. Is she afraid she'll realize she made a mistake in supporting Pete ?

Cute and hot. Just enough insecurity to be endearing and not annoying. Hope he'll trust Greg and follow his heart.

Chapter 13: Rooftop Stars
Timothy M. commented on AC Benus's story chapter in Chapter 13: Rooftop Stars
Sweet - it made me wonder if Linc is his first or Sean already gave his cherry to a trick. Not that it matters too much, as it's definitely his first time 'making love'. I wonder how Daddy will react when Sean gets ill. Not to mention Linc ! -
You know it's funny the way people fear something for ages and then when it finally happens they find out the issue they mostly worried about wasn't such a big deal after all. Corey's dad worried about his son being gay but when his nightmare came true he realized his real fear was something bad happening to Corey. He's worked out that the problem isn't Corey being gay but how the town will react, and to his credit he's on Corey's side no matter what. For his part Corey can now stand up to his dad and react naturally, as the big secret is already revealed. Funny how being out as gay actually makes him more the man his dad wants him to be: standing proud and confident and being a star / role model. Nice irony there, Krista

Just as you can have lovers who are soulmates, the same thing can happen with friends. Wade and Alex have probably never had a best friend, who they meshed with on all levels and could trust. And I have a feeling Wade may appreciate having a close friend who does not know all the shit about his family in the past - and who is able to relate to having 'bad' ancestors. I can understand why Matt feels sad how Wade has found someone else to be his closest friend. However, unless Wade and Alex get romantically involved (which I'd consider unlikely except this is CAP, where straight men are the minority ), their friendship may turn out to increase the chances of Matt and Wade getting back together. My reason for this: Wade is a lot less likely to get seriously involved with someone else, if Alex fulfills his needs for intellectual and spiritual intimacy. Wade can have casual sex with other guys which is no threat to his love for Matt. However, I'm still surprised at Wade's less than polite manners of ignoring Matt and not going to Paris. Though he may feel that as a last minute addition to the trip, he's not fully a part of the party so no great impact if he leaves. Except Wade is usually too clever to believe shit like that. Is he perhaps afraid to see Brad again? Oh well, I think we'll have to wait for a whole new CAP story in the future to get Wade's POV. I won't even try to guess about the whole Cody / Kevin mess. Too complicated for a simple an innocent guy like me
