At Home During COVID-19 and Self Compassion
Kitt commented on Mikiesboy's blog entry in Mikiesboy's Blog
Particularly when others are less than kind to us. The odd thing is that technically the new barn hand calls me regularly with "I need this" or "that broke" which strictly speaking puts it on me to correct, but turns out less stressful as I know right away it needs doing. The other two just expect it done but dont bother telling me about it, then when I have not corrected it a week later bitch to the boss. My regular answer is I can't fix what I dont know is broke!- 13 comments

At Home During COVID-19 and Self Compassion
Kitt commented on Mikiesboy's blog entry in Mikiesboy's Blog
Seriously though... "Some days i can cope, others less so. I am overly emotional, often sad, without an obvious reason." I have been experiencing similar issues. Have not felt like this since round 3 of chemo therapy. Back then I just blamed it on the uncertainty of the outcome of treatment. I suppose this time it is similar, but the uncertainty is what covid does to us next. My husband however does not understand the bouts of sadness. Sometimes I think I am bordering on depression, something he would not deal with well. I am the rock in the family and if I crumble, what do we build on? Shifting gravel doesn't make a good foundation.- 13 comments

Dont forget to sit on the couch! Fries and wine ( in my case Baileys on ice) on the couch. As Burger King says - Be a couch potatriate!- 13 comments

Is it my imagination or have telemarketing calls increased since the stay at home orders?
-
No thanks. Having been hit by a fast ball once was quite enough!

I have to agree with both Mike and tim. Not much phases me in literature. I pretty much skip right over warning tags. I do see how someone who has been subjected to sexual or domestic violence would want to avoid those scenes and rape scenes, someone who has been shot would want to avoid shootings etc, so warnings could cut down stress and visits to the doc!

And Carter thought HE was the one who needs a rubber room?

I agree, bait and switch is low. But is it the author instigating or the site admins? Does the author receive a share of membership fees? How lucrative is the site?

I was wondering why she hadn't Dropped In. I had seen her active on other areas of the site. She didn't answer my p.m. though.

Talk to Mann. As for backwards thinkers, you know what they can do with themselves.

I do hope you are submitting these to a publisher. They belong in every elementary school library.

Have you tried a spray bottle filled with cold water? A quick spritz when the offensive behavior starts is usually pretty effective. Good for everything from barking to house breaking, and has the advantage of working across the room too. Just watch that your siginificant other doesn't step into your line of fire. Had an interesting discussion when hubby stepped into the room at the wrong moment.

Ok, i have been craving chineese food since my husband mentioned that our usual place had closed for the duration of the pandemic. That didnt make sense to me since they do not offer table service anyway, but closed they are. Today we went in search of an alternative provider. Literally all the ones inside a reasonable distance are closed. All 15 of them.

That thought had crossed my mind. Working backward they would have been friends in the days befor effective treatments and PErP ( did i get the initials right?)

Fanlit touched on some of the possibilities my mind is churning up. There are many others too!
