  1. When a gourmet, one doesn't normally eat meat that needs to be glued together unless it is purposefully done. Something to be thankful for.
  2. You can find a guideline and all the prompts located here, Stephanie.
  3. Congratulations and glad to hear it.
  4. Wow, angry much, C. There are many of us who are very aware of past atrocities and how and why they were perpetrated. What that very same awareness also means is that we are aware of the world and it's machinations today as well. Yet, it is possible still to be thankful for family and much loved friends, for home and hearth and to be mindful of those that have fallen on hard times for whatever the reason. It is better to be thankful and mindful of those in need today, where you can make a difference, than to dwell on something that you cannot change. Is it not?
  5. HAPPY TURKEY DAY Because I am thankful everyday.
  6. Was that the whole idea behind giving you the rum in the first place? Some folks are sneaky like that.

    Josh

I think that you have staged the introduction to Joshua well. There is a problem sentence in the 4th paragraph from the end. I get what you're trying to convey but it reads poorly even when read aloud. I don't think that it is just me and if you read that paragraph aloud, I think you will see what I am talking about. The prologue was sad and I must remind myself not to eat lunch and read new stories. It's hard to swallow when your throat tightens up. You kept my interest and I thought the pacing was good. Nice chapter!

    Chapter 12

That was a cute and entertaining chapter.

    Chapter 16

Let's hope that Jesse doesn't get spooked and he and Dylan don't go running off so they can stay together.
  10. I enjoyed the story as much through the second read as I did the first but the last chapter continues to be abrupt in comparison to the rest and feels awkward. What I do enjoy is Michael's experienced and worldly manner as contrasted to JJ's naïveté. The young man's experience with romance and relationships consist of secretly grabbed dalliances and so he doesn't realize when he actually is being romanced. This is painfully obvious when all that he can reach for from past experience is his being grateful for training in how to give a amazing blow job. That is no bad thing but he's lost otherwise. The rest is wonderful and amusing filling. I will read it again sometime in the future, no doubt. Thanks for the review, Renee Thanks for the effort to keep this going, Cia Thanks to the author, andrOgene
  11. Happy Birthday Aditus! Don't eat the rabbit!
  12. I have always liked dogs but you folks are a little too invested.
  13. Same opinion of 'The Outs'. Wicked good fun. Sadly, 'Whatever This Is' is not as interesting. The use of the same characters is part of what throws it off.
  14. I just finished episode two of 'The Outs'. The show is smart funny. Thanks for sharing this, Thorn. Ashessnow, if 'The Outs' continues to be interesting I will certainly take a look at 'Whatever This Is'.
  15. I thought that was very well done too. It made a point without being over done or coming across as preachy even though it was preachin' to the choir here. Very much worth sharing, thanks.
  16. I am not a Grinch, <- or that guy but I am tired of the fuss of putting one up and taking it down. Additionally, I get a little anal particular about the lighting and decorations. I do get many compliments on my tree each year and yet I would just as soon not do it. My partner is coming home on the 23rd for Christmas this year so I will get a tree. I usually buy one and put it up two weeks before Christmas because if I wait any longer the good trees are all taken. The thing will be gone on the first pick up of recycling after new year.
  17. Boston is listed as 15th largest by city but Massachusetts is 8th largest by state. That must mean that I'm living in the wrong neighborhood. Time to head to the suburbs!
  18. I believe that you are referring to performing arts (meant to entertain) rather than performance art (meant to stimulate thought, evoke emotional response), Zombie. Johnathan was speaking to performance art which is what this young man is doing. I wasn't really disagreeing with Johnathan as much as I was pointing out that some performance art is indeed repeated at different venues. A theoretical but awful made up example... Two young men wallow naked in mud on a stage in the round, surrounded by an audience. The men are then pelted by fruits and vegetables by audience members which they then rub on themselves and each other as they engage in sex. The piece ends at climax and is supposed to represent the fecundity of the earth, and mankind's sterility and destruction of it. This is performance art and it may never be repeated again. Or it can be repeated somewhere else in the world and even though it is the same basic act, the variables of time, place and different audience would still make the performance in part, unique. But only in part. Johnathan writes, 'The entire point of performance art is that it can only be performed once.' I replied that this was not entirely true and it isn't but I also gave examples of how it is not entirely false either. I am sorry if my original post was confusing.
  19. This is not entirely true, Johnathan. While this particular performance of losing his virginity can only be done once, many artist re-stage events again and again. If one were to be absolutely technical about it, one could say that each performance is unique bearing in mind different audience, different venue or different frame of mind for the artist and yet the basic premise remains the same each time it is repeated. Each time a work is performed it is new for the audience that is viewing it but it doesn't mean that it has to be a one off performance to be performance art.

    Prompt 276

  21. I just watched the video and the whole time I'm thinking, Hamilton looks like a young Ian Somerhalder. It turns out that he is. I don't know if it is the power of suggestion, since you mentioned that Jake was a girl, or not because I saw a girl in the character. It was especially obvious in the look immediately after the kiss on the rooftop. I didn't watch these shows but I can see how that story line might be influential to someone who was young and questioning things.
  22. Happy Birthday Louis!
  23. That wasn't so hard, was it? Glad you found the place. Welcome aboard, Gee.
  24. I always refer to this body of work under the umbrella title, ‘Underneath This Big Ol’ Sky’. It is a great title for what is a great story. Although as Lisa says, it is incomplete, sadly so and I agree that Viv ‘clearly has to continue with this fantastic series.’ I read this as one of the first stories that I discovered on GA before signing up. How this become one of the first stories now perplexes me as I did a search under the parameters that I used back then and I cannot for the life of me figure out how I discovered it. I will rack that up to serendipity or perhaps kismet. Nevertheless, Viv’s story continues for me to be a highlight of what is excellent writing in the genre of gay fiction. edited to say that I completely forgot to say thanks, Lisa. So, Thanks, Lisa!
  25. I can definitely sign on to Modesitt, Jr. I would have to add on his 'COREAN CHRONICLES' as well. Tad Williams series, all of them, are another major favorite of mine.
