  1. Gandalf

    Chapter 37

Funny to be back here after speeding through the first three books. The perspective of Stef to Brad to Will is even more out there as is the "Predator " aspect of these guys. I was thinking that as a history major from the 60's it is fun to revisit all these issues and times with all this fun and drama which I never would have imagined as a historian. Yet I have had a fine life raising two foster children and a niece and nephew as well as my own daughter. I also, in 1991 reconnected with my male partner from the 60's and continue in that relationship. I also sailed, across the Atlantic in a small boat and lived in Spain for several years on it(dang the participles ). So I've had a fun life just missed out on all that sex. So glad you are back.

    Chapter 1

I had somehow thought of rereading this book as though it would be a chore. I'd forgotten what fun Stef is as a narrator. Cconsidering I started this odyssey four days ago to check out the changes made to the first seventeen chapters of CAP ... Egad not a good time of year to be so waylaid by these old friends. Pax. And thanks again.

    Chapter 48

This is my third, possibly fourth, time through CAP. I meant to check out what changes you were making and chain read the whole addictive thing. No one in my life is happy about this lack of attention the last two days. Anyway I'm glad to revisit these old friends and remind myself what a predator JP was and can be when the occasion arises.
  4. I continue to enjoy both the story and history lessons. This chapter mainly moving along your plot. I've been disappointed that there don't seem to be many readers. I've enjoyed both stories so far. Pax. Steve

    Chapter 35

What a great job of picking up the threads and nuances of plot and character after this amount of time and personal drama. Soo glad you are back for your sake most especially but also selfishly for ours. My partner has had CLL for ten years and generally is responding well to a drug that he gets after being part of a trial. But it has been up and down and he is more selective in what he does now(might be due to our age too). Hope you path goes well. Pax Steve
  6. What a powerful chapter. Franz like so many men of that era survived despite the deprevation of the war and all that was happening around them. Thanks for your work. Steve
  7. Gandalf

    Chapter 2

Guess you are doing well judging from the personal anecdotes generated by your excellent story. My sister died suddenly and I took in her eight and thirteen year old. Eek. I had raised two teen foster sons and had a twelve year old daughter but adding these two was way tougher than I expected with the baggage from their loss and previous lives. A different type story for you but well told as usual. Thanks. Steve

    Chapter 1

My first lover and I split up a few years after college. I didn't want to be gay. Twenty years later we reconnected then having families and lives but we have been in a long distance relationship this time for twenty-five years. Second time round worked well for us. What a great story. Wish times and we had been more like your Steve and Chris. Love this story. Thanks for your work. Steve
  9. Thanks for all your work. Glad they are finally aable to get together. I'm guessing it works better than it did in Germany! It seems historically fairly accurate based on what I have read in the past. Pax. Steve
  10. Have a great day and next year. Pax. Also Steve
  11. Enjoyed picking up with the fearless boy and his neato family. Hope, and am guessing, Zane give us a ride but find some of what he needs. Pax.

    Transplanted

I have read your stories for years elsewhere. This is a departure in content but not in quality over your other work. This story is so sweet. So sad. So well done. Thanks for your work and glad to see you here. This site is I think the easiest to comment on of those I visit. Pax. Steve
  13. Gandalf

    Chapter 15

Read this story last night and am really enjoying it. It's the first story of yours I've read since, "Are you Christian", which I really had liked. Looking forward to where you take these guys. Thanks. Steve.
  14. Just wanted to say I've been enjoying this offshoot series a lot. Enjoy the history so far. Hope it doesn't repeat. Pax. Steve

    Epilogue

Wow! Rayne and Daniel will join Silver as friends to pull out and get reacquainted with from time to time. Thanks so much for your work and another great tale.
  16. Gandalf

    Chapter 15

Ahh they are both growing up. Actually all three are. I will miss these guys. Thanks.
  17. Thanks for what looks to be a good tale. Guessing there is more to the broken arm. Wondering why he feels so guilty about gram?
  18. Gandalf

    Chapter 1

What a fun stupid engaging start. Looking forward to the path you wend us through.
  19. Thanks for the last two chapters. You seem to explore so many permutations of the underground world before Stonewall. Thanks again.
  20. It is a shame, mostly, that creative police and social work is probably done less today than back then. Unfortunately it did tend to tie in to being white male and working or being deserving vs. undeserving poor. I love the way you pull these stories together. When I came out first in the late 60's my Dad would say he could understand the way I was but did I have to talk(meaning be open) about it. Your guys and women do a wonderful job of that and you also show that semi hidden network within and around the community at that time. Again I love this story. Thanks for your labor. Pax. Steve
  21. Gandalf

    Chapter 30

Ah I had Will hooking up with Buzz's son and moving to Texas ranch life. Then you ruined it. Ha. Thanks for the work. It is really good to have you back on again. Pax. Steve

    Epilogue

I am so glad the recent notice brought me to this tale. From the first chapter on I was grabbed and twisted and yanked through the angst but also the tenderness. What wonderful families your guys have. Well drawn and hard to put down so I am wondering if the detail issue is not as serious on a through reading as it was in serial? It was annoying enough at times that I noticed it before I saw the comments but I didn't find it as serious as some did. Thanks Dave. I think I liked this more than Abel but they are both well drawn adventures. Thanks for these as well as your comments which are usually well worth reading.
  23. Gandalf

    Chapter 13

Please have Rayn call the cops from hospital ? This must stop. Well that part of the story. Rayn and Daniel could mux through a few more chapters for sure. Your characters are always so beautiful and beautifully drawn... Then you pull them end us through the most exquisite pain. You are good?
  24. Gandalf

    Chapter 27

WHat a relatively peaceful family gathering. Drama was pleasant and very justified. Will just gets better and better. What class with the car and marshaling the grand kiddos. It appears that the Academic Predator will still have much to do. I can't see him slowing down too much. Is Brad actually more stable for real? How nice that would be although he clearly has some heavy hitting left to do. Many questions. It has always been thus. The job of a teacher. Like all good to have you back. Pax.
  25. It is sad that this fine tale has attracted so little, attention. It is a well written moving novel with enough twists and turns to keep the interest. It is also an amazingly accurate look at the time. It makes under the radar seem um not that bad. I suspect this a work of love. Thanks. Steve
