    Chapter 48

So much going on and all positive! Liam's party was wonderful and the two shy boys enjoyed it most of all. Then we see a slightly opened bud of romance between Clarissa and Deon, but it could still not survive. We get to wonder... We have Jim and Tony beginning to think about sealing their relationship. Finally, what an amazing scene of creative nonfiction! I enjoyed seeing the guys immersed in the embrace of the community. Quite a lovely and well done scene. Thanks so much! Awesome job as always!

    Boy River

Thanks for the wonderfully kind review! I'm glad you see Boy River as an important story. I think it's a subject we tend to gloss over. It touches me a fellow Minnesotan is moved! My husband lived in an apartment building next to Loring Park when we met in 1998. The stories in 1550 Loring Lane are inspired by his old haunt. I'm glad you're enjoying my work. It makes me smile and keep it up.
  3. Such a lot of information and time going on. That's not a bad thing. There is something brewing underneath. Thieves are purloining his investment. We see Barry drifting along as dangerous things happen and it seems mingled or not. I rub my hands at these things. Excellent! Let's see what's going on! More please!

    Chapter 47

Underneath, Doug is a big old softie. He may love Liam so much he can't deny him anything. I don't if Doug is gay, but he certainly has got a bromance going with Liam. You were beginning to scare me, Graeme! I don't mind if Loam and Neil aren't together but I didn't like the reasons. Anyway, awesome job as usual. Can't wait for more.
  5. Sorry to hear about your issues Adi. I'm thinking about you. I may have something for you to read too!!!!
  6. Wonderful job! Staccato style narrative at the beginning changed to a more loving and descriptive style towards the end. You seem to be changing methods which isn't a bad thing. The hard boiled writing tone is good for some things. The more emotive and evocative model is powerful for their intimate scenes. The story continues to engage and entice. Thanks for sharing!

    Chapter 46

I feel like something has changed. The entire mood and resolve seems to have shifted and there is a sense of urgency now. Time seems to be ticking away and the end of the season and Neil's next decision appear to be in tandem, perhaps. I really like the rush and sense of immediacy you're filling it with right now. Awesome job as always. I can't wait to see what's next!

    Boy River

Thanks Adi! Rush is first introduced in Door County Murder. He then meets Ben in Barbed Wire Heart. This coming September, they will make a final short story appearance in the Blurred Lines anthology. I have it outlined and started already. I appreciate the awesome review and thanks again for all your help. It made the story flow and build far better! You are a wonderful friend!

    Chapter 45

Okay, I will put Rod's nefarious plot at the end. Other plots are afoot and need discussing. So much intrigue in this chapter. Patrick is revealing all his Intel from his clandestine mission. It seems like there will be a scattering of the Leopards in the end. Really well plotted, by the way. An agent is interested in Deon so we know a team is. Peter's making a run for the border. Dave is getting his moment in the sun as well. It's wonderful seeing such growth...and then there is Liam's buds. Argh! The gambit by Rod would not have happened without Doug's obsessive bromance with Liam. I'm glad Neil felt able to use Todd as his sounding board. Liam is going to flip out, as he should. I think a fight is brewing. It should be interesting and juicy. [please note I had to use the words nefarious and afoot because I love the sound of them] more please!

Awesome job Adi!!! I love how you wove the dialogue together. It read like they were talking and i was listening from the next room. Yes, i'm not above eavesdropping on Jonah and Romeo!!!! Hahaha!! Anyway, a wonderful use of their first vacation together and the jitters and anxiety it causes. Ran and I almost went to Mexico together after two weeks. He begged off, but it would have worked. You are becoming the dialogue master!!! Thanks for sharing a great tale.

    Chapter 3

It's good to see the guys are moving forward and the little guy continues to be too cute. I really like this storyline because it shows trials and growth in ordinary events in such a fresh and interesting way. Wonderful job, Renee!!! Loved it.
  12. In some ways, Pete is a more interesting character than Elliott. You want to dislike him and even kick his ass, but he almost seems lost. His life needs to be filled with things in order to puff up his self-worth. I really liked seeing Pete bumble through it all and then like a homing device he headed to Henry. Lovely tale. Thanks Val!!!

    Chapter 1

Fantastic story with riveting characters whom i feel i know. I loved the use of the theme and the tension between Nikki and Wes. It made William and Wes's interaction that much more electric. Also, your comparison of Wes wanting to stick around compared with Tessa's wanderlust gave the reader another difference that defined and rounded out the characters. It wasnt a complex story yet you gave it such depth. Thanks for sharing with us.

    Boy River

I agree with your sentiment. There are people who become so selfish and myopic they do bad things to others. They do evil things, as Garrett did to Clay. Along the way, Clay made poor decisions and he was traumatized when Garrett took advantage of that. Now Clay is paying the price. I believe there are people like Ben and Rush in the world. They do their best with guys like Clay. I have seen it and it gives one faith in humanity. These exploited people are damaged, you are right. They need help and time to heal. Thanks for the fantastic review Stephen! It is very appreciated.
  15. Happy Birthday Valkyrie! You are an awesome friend and co-conspirator here! I'm pretty lame about these things but I do adore you, truly! Have a great day.

    Chapter 1

I love vignettes. They convey how life proceeds in the kind of fits and starts that make us wonder what's next. This story does a fantastic job of portraying how a road trip is the perfect vignette. We plan things but don't know how it will turn out or how it will be received. This was a very intriguing lead up to a surprisingly romantic end. I became more and more intrigued as you led me down the path. Then we turned a corner and I had to catch my breath. Great job Wayne!

    Boy River

Thank you Wayne! I tried to handle it carefully. I'm glad it worked. Clay has been through a lot and his ex should be punished. However, it rarely happens. The attitude is the crime is victimless. I thought it was worth exploring. Clay is most definitely a victim. I appreciate the wonderful review!

    Chapter 1

Wonderful job as usual CIA! I loved the feelings of alienation coupled with loneliness throughout. It really made a powerful and intense allegory of when life changes a person. We see others who are also changed with some fear and nervousness. We also don't trust those we believe are 'pure' and untainted by transformation. In the end, our hero struggles with accepting pieces of his humanity and yet being careful and surviving. I have to admit I was thinking some kind of cat, but other commenters saying a lizard of some sort does make sense as well. I'm not sure it affected my enjoyment regardless. I was entranced by the psychological commentary. Thanks CIA for sharing such a thought provoking story.

    Flight QF18

That certainly brought back memories of when I was in my twenties! I especially liked the beginning in Miami and then Orlando at the Parliament House. It was exactly as you described it 25 years ago so I guess things haven't changed much. It was in the process of being renovated then too! haha! i also loved the characterization of the band guys. I have had lots of musicians as customers over the years and they are notorious when it comes to fooling around. I thought that was quite well done. It was also classic Americana for them to travel up the Eastern seaboard in a motor home. For Aussies, it was an amusing play on the theme. Though of course bands traveling in a van is almost a cliche. Using the RV was a nice fresh original touch. Great job, Carlos!

    Boy River

Im glad you didnt pass it by either!!! I'm glad you found it interesting. It is an explosive topic and one that we tend to gloss over. There is another story planned this fall with these characters. We will find out then what happened since as another dilemma is faced. Thanks so much for the awesome review. I hope you'll read the next one as well.

    Boy River

Thanks Tim!!! Im glad you enjoyed more Ben and Rush. It is a sad circumstance. I dont see anyone taking it seriously. However, i think Clay is going to get the help he needs. Rush will make sure of it.

    Boy River

Boy River From the Lakesandwoods.com website Boy River, incorporated in 1922, is the smallest town in Cass County with a population of 47 people. Its relative isolation makes it the perfect getaway for nature enthusiasts. The town has several exciting annual events. In mid-March, the Hobo Club has its
