This is creepy. We listened to Shots on our vacation as it played all the time. It is very haunting and powerful, to me. What a lovely portrayal of this song and this prompt. Great job Adi!e -

Phil and Mary, Phil and Jessica, the Brat, Karen, and Neil should make for an interesting discussion. It is in meetings like this, people find common ground and change their minds about things. It's a process of norming that is so ingrained we don't even notice it. Great job portraying this idea as well as building up the tension. I can't wait and yet I want so much more. That's the mark of good writing. Thanks Graeme!

I was on pins and needles reading this. Fantastic build of tension. We could feel Ty's knee and Neil's trepidation as well as Peter's bittersweet emotions about the last game. Onto the next chapter!

So this chapter is the little engine that could. Fantastic job illustrating the tenacity and vigor healing from an injury takes. Not only that, you've demonstrated Paddy's commitment and faith in the brat's ability. Very well done. We are seeing the Leopards come together as they haven't before. Ty's injury seems to be a focal point in their singular effort for the final. It looks like it all culminates on the brat's birthday which will be very exciting. As always, wonderful chapter and the story is playing out beautifully. Thanks Graeme!

What a powerful chapter. Your play by play was really good, solid and I could see the action. The scene of Ollie in his baby blue undies was a nice touch. I'm glad to see Dave is handling the arrest well. He will continue needing support and avenues of communication. Neil and Liam are adorable and I love seeing them happy. Poor Ty! Will this kill his chance to be drafted? Now you have me biting my fingernails!

I love dialects because they give us vernacular and thus diversity. I'm a big fan. Therefore, I also add these little tidbits. In Minnesota, we pronounce a small stream of water in the country a Crick, not a creek. We also teach kindergarteners Duck, Duck, Gray Duck, and not Duck, Duck, Goose. These regional differences are really endearing things, at least to me. -

Hahaha! I think many of us have met Peter, or his like, in our course of work. This story dug deep into my life in the restaurant industry. It is based on a customer of mine who had a very combative relationship with his brother. They loved each other fiercely and protectively. An alternative story would be my customer knew his brother was getting screwed over. It drove him batty. Anyway, thanks for the wonderful review, I appreciate it so much. Thank you!

Ch-ch-ch-changes! What an awesome bombshell at the end! We knew there were some negotiations going on, but then boom goes the dynamite! I love the subtle positioning you're presenting of the team and the dawning realizations the Brat is different. The one thing different from the prevailing theme of this chapter highlights the rest of it. Dave's continuing issues. I think that was masterful. Dave will never get "well" though he will hopefully get better. The inclusion of Dave's letter is pretty gutsy and makes the rest of the chapter so much more powerful. His problems will continue plaguing him but I hope it helps him grow. Anyway, fantastic job. Thanks for sharing with us.

Rather somber mood in this chapter. But I am impressed by your ability to show heartbreak and resolve like this. Clarissa and Liam have an exchange that is especially touching. Some of the best times of my life have been figuring things out with my girlfriends. Really honest and sincere. It is good to see Ty leading the team. Deon and Clarissa at the end were very interesting. Dating is getting to know one another but it is also a negotiation. We determine the terms of our agreement while dating. Fascinating approach! I must confess. I love books that challenge me emotionally without losing me in the weeds. You do that so well. As always, fantastic job. I can't wait for next weekend!

Weekly Update Weekly Wrap Up!

It was a lovely weekend for Ran and me. We went for a bike ride, cooked out, went to some lovely fireworks that included smiling faces and hearts. Quite interesting take on rockets red glare. I then processed three gallons of sour cherries today and made a cherry upside down cake which is delish! Managed to sandwich in some writing and Ran is finishing up reading Barbed Wire Heart. It made my weekend that he's loving it. Thanks Renee!
