Idiom Prompt “Jack of All Trades”
“Welcome to All Trades Employment Agency. I’m Jack. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Thanks, Gary I'm glad you liked 18. When we went out for waffles, I mentioned I needed to write a poem for that day so my BFF told me to write about waffles. lol I'm glad it worked. Thanks for the comments
These are all wonderful in their own right. I love your take on the prompts, especially the dog and rain. And the rooftop. As always, I am in awe of your use of form. Well done, Parker.

Swimming Pool
Concrete suburban pond
Hub of summer activity
Hiding place from boorish adults
who considered it fun to chase

Flailing limbs, burning lungs,
Despair and hopelessness

Wooden and leaden,
Beckons slumbering wit
To sharpen with

I like these a lot. You've masterfully woven two themes together... April weather, but also the seasons of life. I know exactly what 8 is speaking of, and you nailed it perfectly. I loved the metaphor and the old boots. 12 in particular spoke to me. Each one of these poems is a delight in its own way. Well done, my friend.
I like this challenge a lot, but it also falls right when the anthology is due. I doubt I'll have time for it, but will see how my anthology stories come along. Hopefully I'll have time for both.
