Hahaha I'm the same way. Sometimes I need to be hit over the head with something in order to see it. You've made some good points. Galen and Eddie have something in common, so we'll see how that plays out. And leaving the safety of the farm and Josh is a huge step for him. Thanks for the comments and for reading. I really appreciate it.
Galen has come a long way, and searching for answers independence is a big step for him. We'll see what roles Eddie and Ben play. And you are quite right--there are no easy routes or answers. Thanks for reading and your support of this story.
You are absolutely right. Galen needs to find answers without Josh muddying the questions. It will be hard, but hopefully worth it in the end. Thanks for reading and commenting.
Remember that we're seeing things through Galen's eyes, and his trust of strangers is quite broken. So we don't know much about Ben at this point. And I want to hug Galen until things are better, too. Thanks for reading and commenting.
I haven't stolen the shiny in a while, so you have no excuse And I will never declare you the rightful owner since the shiny much prefers the company of Emperor Penguins.
I like the prosody and flow of these. There's an inherent smoothness to the form that I find soothing, context notwithstanding. I learned a new word--'lief'. "Unborn" is quite clever, leading the mind one direction until the last stanza. "Age" struck a chord with me, as it echoes some thoughts I've been having lately. Nicely done, as usual.
Northie's stories are well worth checking out. She has a unique style that seems a bit unorthodox at times, but works. The Bard's Tale is a perfect example of this. It's a riveting story and you don't need to be a LPW participant to appreciate it. Her writing has grown stronger with each 'experiment', and she features characters that are flawed, but relateable, and not typically seen in most stories on GA. Anyone who reads her stories won't be disappointed.

“You seem distracted today.”
“Huh?” Dr. Snowden’s voice drew my attention away from his bookshelf and back to him.
“I asked about your riding. A couple of weeks ago you mentioned you’d started again.”
“Oh yeah.” I shrugged. “Fine.”
“Was there something in particular you wanted to talk about today?”
I furrowed my brow. I was regretting my decision to keep my appointment that day. I’d almost cancelled since I wasn’t in much of a mood to talk.
“Somethin
This is an excellent story and well worth reading. Parker takes a person who appears utterly unworthy of sympathy or redemption, yet
Great review, Spikey.
Parts of this prompt are based off an actual job that I had. I lasted about a week before I quit. I am most definitely not cut out to be a waitress. You are right about it being difficult to stand up for yourself when you are the center of attention. Thanks for commenting!
There's quite a few authors on that list that I'm not familiar with. I like the theme "Escape". It was one of my top choices for the Special Anthology.
