    Sit with Me

Sit with me And talk of silly things Like odd ducks and What vampires eat for breakfast, If anything. Sit with me And discuss important things Like the nature of dragons and The royal hierarchy of Faery. Sit with me In silence And look at flowers and Cloud formations, Wishing the other wasn’t Sitting half a world away.
  3. Button is a realistic portrayal of raising a child with a learning disability. Cole's strength as a writer is infusing his stories with emotion and realism. This story is an absolute gem and well worth checking out.
  4. Congratulations!
  5. I can relate all too well. I love how you acknowledge the dark, knowing it's temporary. That patience is something that has to be learned. It will get better.

    Chapter 27

I'm glad you like the story so much. No, it's not on hold. Well, it was temporarily while I wrote an entry for the summer novella contest and now the spring anthology. Chapter 28 is started and I plan on finishing up the story this summer. My plan is to start working on it again next week. Thanks for asking
  7. I love the banner, but shouldn't it read "Legends"? I love the theme, too. It was one of my choices for the special anthology. And I am officially in panic mode now. I'm on my second attempt at a story for "Encounters", but am not sure I'll have something worth including in time.
  8. Great promo, Dodger I will admit I haven't read much by Dodger, and haven't read any of these, but what I have read was quite well-written. I'm intrigued by these descriptions, especially about the "Soldier's Guide to Single Parenting". I do love a good unlikeable character.
  9. I think I'll go star-gazing now... lovely poems, as always.
  10. All of Craftingmom's stories are worth checking out and this one is no exception. Caz pretty much nailed it in her comments above.
  11. My beta reader and I have had quite a few conversations on this topic. Adding personal elements to our stories helps lend an air of authenticity. I tend to sprinkle in mannerisms, personal preferences in movies/music/food, and emotions that I've either experienced or observed in others. It can also be an interesting exercise to get into the mind of a character completely opposite yourself. Great article.

    In Conference

It's nice to see Ray get what he deserves. I liked the point of view and I could clearly picture Andy and Zander. I'm glad Andy got his justice without a messy confrontation with his uncle. He's been through enough.
  13. Yes, but at least there is hope. Thanks for reading.
  14. Thanks Next time I'll be sure to run the German through Addy Translate first
  15. Thanks so much
  16. We don't know yet how Mathias found Heinrich. It could have been coincidence and he left the journal hoping Heinrich would find it and reach out. Or maybe he hired a private investigator like you said. Guess we'll have to wait and see if another prompt inspires more about these two. Thanks for reading
  17. 🙇‍♀️ Thanks so much
  18. Thanks I think there's a lot more to this story. You may just see these guys again.
  19. Thanks Yeah, I think the whole "last summer" part of the prompt had an inherently sad vibe to it. I liked writing about these two. I may decide to expand this at some point.
  20. 😢 Very sad. I hope he was able to find some comfort in Dorcas' company.
  21. The empty bus rattled along the pock-marked street at a rate of speed only those familiar with the road would dare attempt. The driver swerved to avoid the worst of the potholes—an automatic response requiring little thought. The large vehicle was never silent, since every bump produced creaking protests from the stressed shocks, throwing the driver up from his seat an inch or few, depending on the size of the offending obstruction. Stop signs and traffic lights produced squealing protests f
  22. I loved the list of titles, as you can tell There are quite a few more that spoke to me, so I may tackle them at another point. Thanks so much for reading and commenting. Your support means a lot to me
  23. Thank you so much
  24. Thanks so much. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
  25. That is a nice feeling, isn't it? Thanks so much for reading and commenting
