    I always enjoy reading other authors' insights. Dissonance is well worth the read, and I hope this inspires Mac to work on the next chapter Northie's latest stories have been quite impressive. If you haven't checked out her newsletter shorts or Never too Late, I highly recommend them. I'm not as familiar with Jfalkon and Hunter's work, but it was nice reading the inspiration behind their stories. I proofread Jfalkon's anthology story, so it was nice to hear the inspiration behind it.

    Thanks I enjoy reading your comments because they always get me thinking. You have me curious as to why you don't like Eddie. And you are right, things could have gone wrong very quickly in that situation.

    Haha... not twisted at all. I love the smell of horse barns. (cow barns, on the other hand... ) Stable sounds are quite relaxing, aren't they? Especially after a hard day's work. Thanks for the comment and for sticking with the story.

    Parts of this story are based on actual events. I can't remember if we had calculators or not... I think we did. I don't remember how many math errors I made, but we were threatened that the difference would be docked from our pay. I didn't last long enough to find out if he would make good on his threat. And no... I wasn't fired. I quit after about a week. I am not cut out to be a server. Thanks for reading and commenting!

    I'm still giggling that we both used the name "Danny". I like this snapshot a lot. There is so much conveyed in few words and I want to know more. I'd love to know what pact they made. You captured the protagonist's anxiousness and embarrassment well. I'd love to read more.

    Flame wasps... *shudder* I'm going to have nightmares about those now. I'm absolutely terrified of sting-y things. I'm guessing the unusual behavior of the flame wasps has to do with the conversation Kohen overheard. Good thing he was meditating and saved everyone. Well, almost everyone.

    Me too, Tim. Just thinking about this story immediately brings tears to my eyes---it's that powerful. This story is one of Cole's best pieces of writing and it's no surprise that it won the Secret Admirer Contest. It's an absolute must-read, but be sure to have a box of tissues handy. You'll need more than one.

    I love this comment. My beta reader said the same thing about everyone but Josh and Galen being aware that they're actually in a relationship. They'll have to acknowledge it at some point. You are right that Galen still has a long road ahead, but at least now he's on it. Thanks for commenting!

    I'm sorry to say I didn't have a chance to read the story this month. Unfortunately, I just haven't been reading as much as I used to. I enjoyed reading the interview, though. And I do like post-apocalyptic stories. So I will add this to my ever-growing list.
