Today was going to suck. It’s not like I was a big fan of Thanksgiving to begin with, but this year was even suckier than usual. I had recently moved to start my dream job and didn’t know too many people in the area. My family was about a thousand miles away and since I was perpetually single, I had no one to share the day with. My boss found out I was planning on spending the day alone and insisted that I come spend the day with her and her family. Turn left on Sunshine Avenue in one half

Rob is not a fan of Thanksgiving or holidays in general. His boss invites him to Thanksgiving dinner, where he meets someone who might just change his mind about the holidays.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review, William. I do think that Ben and Jake were in love with Richard and Lee...maybe not to the extent that they loved each other, but it is possible to love more than one person. Ben didn't "just move on". It was several years after Jake's disappearance, and one-two years after he was declared officially dead. Everyone is different with how they grieve. Some people might never get over the loss, while others are lucky enough to find love again. In this case, that love wasn't strong enough to survive the return of the first love. I don't think Jake can be faulted too much for marrying and having children. He didn't know about Ben or his prior life--he didn't remember it. This is a messy story for sure, and I love how it provoked such different reactions from readers. I appreciate and can see your point of view, even if I do disagree. I don't think there are any right or wrong answers in this story--just people trying to navigate their way through an impossible situation. Thanks again for the great review. It's that kind of weather here today, too. The high is in the low 70s, which is unheard of for this time of year. That will change tomorrow, though. The high is in the 30s with snow predicted. Oh well. It is that time of year!
